Purpose: To investigate children's willingness to sit next to a child with noticeable exotropia as a measure of social alienation.

Methods: This was a cross-sectional, mixed-design study. Children in primary grades 3-6 (8-12 years old) were asked to view 8 digitally modified images of exotropic or orthotropic children in classroom settings and rate their willingness to sit next to the child in each image.

Aims: To apply cumulative sum (CUSUM) in monitoring performance of surgeons in cataract surgery and to evaluate the response of performance to intervention.

Method: A CUSUM analysis was applied to 80 phacoemulsification performed by three ophthalmic trainees and one consultant, for the occurrence of posterior capsular rupture and postoperative refracted vision of worse than 6/12 among patients without pre-existing ocular comorbidity. The CUSUM score of each consecutive procedure performed by an individual surgeon was calculated and charted on CUSUM chart.

We report a full-term male infant born to nonconsanguinous parents who had clinical features of Goldenhar syndrome and cri du chat syndrome. At birth, the infant was noted to have dysmorphic features with bilateral preauricular tags, rotated ears, bilateral epicanthic folds, a left epibulbar lipodermoid, and an accessory left nipple. After he was assessed for feeding difficulty and tachypnea, he was found to have esophageal atresia with tracheoesophageal fistula.
