Objective: This study investigated the clinical details and usage of Sa-am acupuncture in Korean medicine clinics and explored how practicing Korean medicine doctors (KMDs) think about Sa-am acupuncture.

Methods: We conducted a questionnaire-based survey of KMDs who utilize Sa-am acupuncture in their practice. The study comprehensively investigated issues related to clinical application of Sa-am acupuncture, needling techniques used during treatment, training methods, and directions for its future improvement.

This paper presents the Acupuncture Controls gUideline for Reporting humAn Trials and Experiments (ACURATE) checklist, an extension of The Consolidated Standards for Reporting of Trials (CONSORT), which is to be used with STandards for Reporting Interventions in Clinical Trials of Acupuncture (STRICTA) when real and sham acupuncture needles are used in a study. This checklist focuses on a clear depiction of sham needling procedures to enhance replicability and enable a precise appraisal. We encourage researchers to use ACURATE in trials and reviews involving sham acupuncture to assist in the reporting of sham acupuncture procedures and related components.

Healthcare utilization for atopic dermatitis: An analysis of the 2010-2018 health insurance review and assessment service national patient sample data.

This cross-sectional, retrospective, observational study aimed to analyze the distribution and healthcare usage patterns of patients with atopic dermatitis using the 2010-2018 Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service data. Patients diagnosed with atopic dermatitis in Korea between January 2010 and December 2018 and registered in the Health Insurance Review and Assessment national database were identified, and 270,008 patients who used healthcare services at least once during this period were evaluated to ascertain the healthcare usage patterns and treatment methods for atopic dermatitis. The number of patients with atopic dermatitis plateaued during the study period, while the number of claims and total expenses increased by a small margin.

Analysis of medical service utilization for post-stroke sequelae in Korea between 2016 and 2018: a cross-sectional study.

In this retrospective cross-sectional observational study, the medical service utilization of post-stroke sequelae patients was examined using a national patient sample. The Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service-National Patients Sample database was used to investigate the medical service utilization of 19,562 patients, diagnosed with post-stroke sequelae of cerebrovascular disease (I69) in Korea between January 2016 and December 2018. We compared the demographic characteristics, diagnosis code subtypes, frequency of healthcare utilization, medical costs, and comorbidities of standard care (SC) and Korean medicine (KM) users.

Optical and Electrical Characterization of Visible Parylene Films.

Poly-dichloro-para-xylylene (parylene-C) film is formed through a chemical vapor deposition process, where monomeric gases are polymerized on the target surface at room temperature and are used as transparent insulating coating films. The thin parylene-C films exhibit uniform conformal layers even when deposited on substrates or surfaces with fine cracks, structures, and bumps. However, the film is highly transparent in the visible range (transmittance > 90%); thus, it is difficult to visually identify, inspect the coating process and check for any defects when used as an insulation film.
