The disruption of calcium signaling associated with polycystin deficiency has been proposed as the primary event underlying the increased abnormally patterned epithelial cell growth characteristic of Polycystic Kidney Disease. Calcium can be regulated through mechanotransduction, and the mechanosensitive cation channel Piezo1 has been implicated in sensing of intrarenal pressure and in urinary osmoregulation. However, a possible role for PIEZO1 in kidney cystogenesis remains undefined.

Promoting the process of determining brain death through standardized training.

Objective: This study aims to explore the training mode for brain death determination to ensure the quality of subsequent brain death determination.

Methods: A four-skill and four-step (FFT) training model was adopted, which included a clinical neurological examination, an electroencephalogram (EEG) examination, a short-latency somatosensory evoked potential (SLSEP) examination, and a transcranial Doppler (TCD) examination. Each skill is divided into four steps: multimedia theory teaching, bedside demonstration, one-on-one real or dummy simulation training, and assessment.

The polysaccharides from Auricularia auricula (AAPs), containing a large number of O-acetyl groups that are related to the physiological and biological properties, seem to be potential prebiotics like other edible fungus polysaccharides. In the present study, therefore, the alleviating effects of AAPs and deacetylated AAPs (DAAPs, prepared from AAPs by alkaline treatment) on nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) induced by high-fat and high-cholesterol diet combined with carbon tetrachloride were investigated. The results revealed that both AAPs and DAAPs could effectively relieve liver injury, inflammation and fibrosis, and maintain intestinal barrier function.

Exhaust emission inventory of typical construction machinery and its contribution to atmospheric pollutants in Chengdu, China.

To study the emission characteristics of typical construction machinery in Chengdu, 12 construction machinery (excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and forklifts) under idling mode, moving mode, and working mode, were tested using a portable emission measurement system (PEMS). Under three operating modes, the typical construction machinery in the working mode was higher in the fuel-based average emission factors of PM and NO while the fuel-based average emission factors of HC and CO were higher in idling mode. Integrated the results of investigation on ownership and activity levels of construction machinery, an exhaust emission inventory of typical construction machinery of Chengdu in 2018 was established according to the recommendation method.

Analysis of Risk Factors and Nursing Intervention Measures Affecting Nutritional Status of Children with Crohn's Disease.

In recent years, the incidence of Crohn's disease (CD) in the Asia-Pacific region is gradually increasing, and the onset age is decreased at the same time. The relapse of illness and long course of disease easily lead to malnutrition, which will affect the treatment effect of the disease and even worsen the disease. Therefore, it is very important to find the risk factors affecting the nutritional status of children with CD and to carry out effective nursing intervention accordingly.

[Trends in Vehicle Emissions in Sichuan Province, 2010-2017].

Vehicle pollution in Sichuan Province is becoming increasingly serious. Here, based on specific inventory calculation methods and multi-caliber activity level data, this study calculated vehicle exhaust emissions from 2010 to 2017 in Sichuan Province. The results show that the average growth rate of vehicle ownership in Sichuan is higher than the national trend.

Decompressive craniectomy combined with mild hypothermia in patients with large hemispheric infarction: a randomized controlled trial.

Background: The effect of hypothermia on large hemispheric infarction (LHI) remains controversial. Our study aimed to explore the therapeutic outcomes of decompressive craniectomy (DC) combined with hypothermia on LHI.

Methods: Patients were randomly divided into three groups: the DC group, the DC plus head surface cooling (DCSC) group and the DC plus endovascular hypothermia (DCEH) group.

Objective: To assess the risk factors of early ineffective recanalization, defined as a modified Rankin scale (mRS) score of 4∼6 at two weeks after symptom onset, in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients receiving endovascular treatment (EVT).

Methods: A total of 92 patients diagnosed CCP were retrospectively reviewed. One patient was from Nanfang Hospital of Southern Medical University, 5 patients were from Tongji Hospital, and 86 patients were from case reports in the PubMed database from 1961 to 2019.

[Fine Particulate Matter Source Profile of Typical Industries in Sichuan Province].

An electrical low pressure impactor particle monitor was used to monitor typical industries in Sichuan Province, such as cement, glass, ceramic, brick-tile, coal-fired boiler, biomass boiler, power plant, and steel industry. Fine particulate matter source profiles of each industry were developed based on the laboratory analysis. The results showed that Si, Ca, and Mg were the major elements of building industry particulate matter emission.

An Investigation and Suggestions for the Improvement of Brain Death Determination in China.

Background: Brain death is the irreversible cessation of the function of the brain including the brainstem. In 2013, the Brain Injury Evaluation Quality Control Centre (BQCC) of the National Health and Family Planning Commission issued criteria and practical guidelines for the determination of brain death. This study aimed to evaluate whether the institutions have adopted these guidelines and to make suggestions for the improvement of the current criteria and practical guidelines for brain death determination in China.

Improved Neurological Outcome With Mild Hypothermia in Surviving Patients With Massive Cerebral Hemispheric Infarction.

Background And Purpose: We conducted this randomized controlled trial to investigate the effects of therapeutic hypothermia on mortality and neurological outcome in patients with massive cerebral hemispheric infarction.

Methods: Patients within 48 hours of symptom onset were randomized to either a hypothermia group or a control group. Patients in the hypothermia group were given standard medical treatment plus endovascular hypothermia with a target temperature of 33 or 34°C.
