Mitogen-activated protein kinase kinases (MAPKKs) play a critical role in the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) signaling pathway, transducing external stimuli into intracellular responses and enabling plant adaptation to environmental challenges. Most research has focused on the model plant Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana). The systematic analysis and characterization of MAPKK genes across different plant species, particularly in cotton (Gossypium hirsutum), are somewhat limited.

Concrete structures frequently manifest diverse defects throughout their manufacturing and usage processes due to factors such as design, construction, environmental conditions and distress mechanisms. In this paper, a multilevel convolutional neural network (CNN) combined with array ultrasonic testing (AUT) is proposed for identifying the locations of hole defects in concrete structures. By refining the detection area layer by layer, AUT is used to collect ultrasonic signals containing hole defect information, and the original echo signal is input to CNN for the classification of hole locations.

Dunes are the primary geomorphological type in deserts, and the distribution of dune morphologies is of significant importance for studying regional characteristics, formation mechanisms, and evolutionary processes. Traditional dune morphology classification methods rely on visual interpretation by humans, which is not only time-consuming and inefficient but also subjective in classification judgment. These issues have impeded the intelligent development of dune morphology classification.

Electrochemical hydrogenation of aldehyde molecules, exemplified by 5-hydroxymethylfurfural (HMF), offers a sustainable approach for synthesizing higher value-added alcohols. However, severe coupling side reactions impede its practical implementation at high concentrations. In this work, a cluster-level heterostructure of a PMo/Cu catalyst is synthesized by loading Keggin-type phosphomolybdic acid (HPMoO, PMo) onto Cu nanowires.

There are a large number of simple landfills in hilly areas, and the results of previous studies have shown that pollutants in landfills can spread via interflow and cause surface source pollution. The hybrid activated sludge-membrane aerated bioreactor (H-MABR) developed in a previous study can be used for the treatment of interflow with a low chemical oxygen demand (COD)/total nitrogen (TN) ratio, and it has been shown to be effective in laboratory simulations. To investigate the effectiveness of the H-MABR in treating interflow around landfills in real-world applications, an in-situ pilot-scale evaluation of the effectiveness of H-MABR operation was conducted at a landfill.
