Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Dahuang-Gancao decoction (DGD) is a traditional Chinese medicinal formula that is recorded in the Synopsis of the Golden Chamber, and is widely used to treat damp-heat in the body. Since the pathological factors of androgenetic alopecia (AGA) also reflect damp-heat blockage, DGD has great potential for the treatment of AGA and has been used effectively in clinical practice.
Aim Of The Study: The aim of the study was to investigate whether external application of DGD could promote the activation and proliferation of hair follicle stem cells (HFSCs) and improve AGA through the Wnt/β-catenin pathway.
Photocatalytic CO reduction technology plays a significant role in the energy and environmental sectors, highlighting the necessity for developing high-efficiency and stable catalysts. In this study, a novel photocatalyst, xNiCoO/CN (x = 1, 3, and 5 wt%), was synthesized by depositing zeolitic imidazolate framework-67 (ZIF-67)-derived nickel cobaltate (NiCoO) hollow nanocages onto porous graphitic carbon nitride (g-CN, CN) nanosheets for photocatalytic CO reduction. Under visible light irradiation, the resulting 3NiCoO/CN photocatalyst demonstrated exceptional CO yields of up to 2879.

Methods: Clinical symptoms were recorded, and physical examinations conducted.
Background/objectives: Pembrolizumab monotherapy is approved in Canada for first-line treatment of advanced NSCLC with PD-L1 ≥ 50% and no EGFR/ALK aberrations. However, approximately 55% of these patients do not respond to pembrolizumab, underscoring the need for the early intervention of non-responders to optimize treatment strategies. Distinguishing the 55% sub-cohort prior to treatment is a real-world dilemma.

However, this therapeutic approach is often hampered by on-target side effects, physical barriers, and immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment (TME).
Methods: To improve therapeutic efficacy while minimizing toxicities, we engineered an oncolytic vaccinia virus (OVV) encoding an anti-CD47 nanobody (OVV-αCD47nb).
Glomerular endothelial cells (GECs) are pivotal in developing glomerular sclerosis disorders. The advancement of focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) is intimately tied to disruptions in lipid metabolism. Sphingosine-1-phosphate (S1P), a molecule transported by high-density lipoproteins (HDL), exhibits protective effects on vascular endothelial cells by upregulating phosphorylated endothelial nitric oxide synthase (p-eNOS) and enhancing nitric oxide (NO) production.

However, there are limited studies that demonstrate the potential of whole slide imaging (WSI) as a robust digital pathology option for FS FS diagnosis. In the current study, we compared the diagnostic accuracy achieved with WSI to that achieved with Light Microscopy (LM) for evaluating FSs of axillary sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) and clipped lymph nodes (LNs) from breast cancer patients using two modalities.

The utilization of intraoperative Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation (TEAS) in conjunction with anesthesia is expected to become an effective preventive measure for POCD in clinical practice.
Methods: We conducted a comprehensive literature review focusing on the use of TEAS in the prevention of POCD during surgical anesthesia.
Epigenetic clocks are a common group of tools used to measure biological aging-the progressive deterioration of cells, tissues, and organs. Epigenetic clocks have been trained almost exclusively using blood-based tissues, but there is growing interest in estimating epigenetic age using less-invasive oral-based tissues (i.e.

Methods: All 164 patients with anisometropic amblyopia were recruited in this cross-sectional study. The contrast sensitivity function (CSF) was measured using the qCSF method, whereas the MP-3 microperimeter was used to assess fixation stability and locate the preferred retinal locus.
Background: Vascular endothelial cell-derived exosomes are thought to mediate disease progression by regulating macrophage polarization. However, its mechanism in diabetes mellitus (DM)-related atherosclerosis (AS) progress is unclear.
Methods: High-glucose (HG) and oxLDL were used to induce human cardiac microvascular endothelial cells (HCMECs) to mimic DM-related AS model.
The inhibition of mutant KRAS proteins has emerged as a promising approach for treating KRAS-driven cancers, as evidenced by the clinical success of KRAS G12C inhibitors. KRAS G12D, the most common mutant, promises significant expansion of the addressable patient population; however, the reduced nucleophilicity of aspartate compared to cysteine poses significant challenges in balancing sufficient potency with ADME properties to support oral exposure. Herein, we describe the discovery of KRAS G12D inhibitor (), which achieves oral exposure in nonhuman primate (NHP).

T-cell-engaging bispecific antibodies (BiTEs), which can simultaneously bind to antigens on tumor cells and T cells, show good potential in cancer immunotherapy. A practical and feasible approach for emulating BiTEs involves immobilizing two types of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) onto a single nanoparticle; however, this approach involves complex immobilization processes and chemical reactions. To overcome these challenges, we achieved gentle antibody immobilization through receptor-ligand interactions by constructing a mAb delivery system known as Fcγ receptor 1 (FcγR1)-expressing cell membrane-coated nanoparticles (abbreviated as FcγR1-CMNPs).

However, owing to the presence of residual host cell DNA (HCD) in the final product and the potential tumorigenicity of the DNA of high-passage Vero cells, the WHO not only sets a limit on the number of times cells used in production can be passaged, but also imposes strict requirements on the amount of residual HCD in the final vaccine product.
Objectives: To systematically reduce the HCD level in the final vaccine product, multiple purification steps are included in the vaccine production process.
: Lung cancer is an aggressive disease with rapid progression and a high rate of metastasis, leading to a significantly poor prognosis for many patients. While chemotherapy continues to serve as a cornerstone treatment for a large proportion of lung cancer patients, expanding preclinical and clinical evidence indicates that chemotherapy may promote tumor metastasis and cause side effects. : We develop an injectable bait-and-hook hydrogel (BH-gel) for targeted tumor cell eradication, which embedded doxorubicin liposomes as cytotoxic agents and CXCL12 as a chemoattractant to capture and kill tumor cells.
