Qingyuan Partridge chickens represent a notable breed of high-quality, slow-growing chickens. The cost of feed constitutes 65-70 % of the total breeding expense for Qingyuan Partridge chickens. Enhancing feed utilization efficiency and reducing feed consumption are crucial for the advancement of Qingyuan Partridge chickens and the broader poultry industry.

Salvianic acid A (SAAS) is the primary water-soluble bioactive ingredient found in Salvia miltiorrhiza, is renowned for its therapeutic effects on cardiovascular diseases. However, the efficacy and mechanisms of SAAS in treating EndMT-induced AS remain underexplored.

In recent years, significant progress is made in RNA therapy, and RNA molecules, such as mRNAs, siRNAs, miRNAs, and RNA aptamers, are shown to provide significant advantages in the treatment of hepatic diseases. However, the drawbacks of RNAs, such as their poor biological stability, easy degradation by nucleases in vivo, low bioavailability, and low concentrations in target tissues, significantly limit the clinical application of RNA-based drugs.

However, the genetic regulatory mechanism underlying castration consequences have not been clarified. To investigate the key metabolites affecting the quality of capons and the key regulatory mechanisms, Qingyuan partridge roosters were subjected to castration.

Here, we report a new approach to consolidating RNA-seq and microarray data based on a systematic exploration of parameters and computational controls, enabling us to infer functional gene associations from their co-expression patterns. To illustrate the power of this approach, we took advantage of new data regarding a previously studied pathway, the biogenesis of a secretory organelle called the mucocyst.

We aimed to assess the effects of combined AIs and rhGH versus those of rhGH alone for short stature using a meta-analytic approach. The PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane library electronic databases were searched systematically for eligible randomized controlled trials (RCTs) from inception until December 2021.

Using headspace solid phase microextraction combined with gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME/GC-MS) techniques, we analyze the aroma components of Enshi Yulu tea and changes in them during the processing stages. In total, 242 volatile compounds were identified.

Sulfide is recognized as the key substance responsible for the darkening of urban rivers. However, the pathway of sulfide production and the underling microbial mechanisms in urban rivers are not fully understood.

Despite its acknowledged importance, current studies on Tetrahymena biology face challenges due to gene annotation inaccuracy, particularly the notable absence of untranslated regions (UTRs). To comprehensively annotate the Tetrahymena macronuclear genome, we collected extensive transcriptomic data spanning various cell stages.

Importance: Young Black women bear a disproportionate burden of breast cancer deaths compared with White women, yet they remain underrepresented in genomic studies.
Objective: To evaluate the association of biological factors, including West African genetic ancestry, and nonbiological factors with disease-free survival (DFS) among young Black women with breast cancer.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This observational cohort study included Black women diagnosed with invasive breast cancer between January 1, 2005, and December 31, 2016.
Background: Although optical coherence tomography (OCT) guidance with the 'MLDMAX' criteria is very useful for de-novo lesions during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), there are limited studies on its benefits in patients with in-stent restenosis (ISR). This study aimed to compare the clinical outcomes of patients with ISR who underwent repeat PCI (re-PCI) with OCT or angiographic guidance.
Methods: This retrospective study enrolled 2142 patients with ISR who underwent re-PCI at Nanjing First Hospital from January 2016 to January 2023.
Soils in the aquatic-terrestrial zone undergo periodic flooding and act as significant carbon sinks. However, the mechanisms governing soil organic carbon (SOC) formation in these zones are not well understood. This study elucidates the effects of periodic flooding on SOC accumulation at the water level drawdown zone of the Three Gorges Reservoir, using lignin phenols and amino sugars as indicators of plant- and microbial-derived carbon.

Methods: We included 4,137 participants with hypertension from the 2011-2014 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey cohort. The study endpoint was the incidence of CVD in patients with hypertension.
Tenascin-C (TNC) is a secreted extracellular matrix protein that is highly expressed during embryonic development and re-expressed during wound healing, inflammation, and neoplasia. Studies in developmental models suggest that TNC may regulate the Wnt signaling pathway. Our lab has shown high levels of Wnt signaling and TNC expression in anaplastic thyroid cancer (ATC), a highly lethal cancer with an abysmal ~3-5 month median survival.

Many studies have reviewed the impact of Achilles tendon ruptures on return to play (RTP) and performance, but there are no studies on their economic significance.
Purpose/hypothesis: This study aimed to analyze the economic and performance consequences of Achilles tendon ruptures usingthe cost of recovery (COR) for NBA franchises as well as preinjury salary/career success.
In this study, a fluorescence detection method combining aptamer-modified up-conversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) and magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) was developed for detection of Clenbuterol (CLB). The aptamer-modified magnetic NPs captured CLB, which reacted with the aptamer-modified UCNPs and generated a sandwich complex. The aptamer-modified UCNPs acted as a fluorescence source.

Shared decision-making (SDM) has been practiced fairly frequently in general medicine, but less so in mental disorders, especially in closed psychiatric wards, and its positive predictor has recently been recognized in the field of mental health. Studies have shown that patients with severe mental disorders want a say in their care and their desire to participate in clinical decision-making is even higher than those treated by general medical services. This review aims to explore the research progress of SDM for patients with schizophrenia with anxiety in a collectivist culture (such as Chinese culture) and to provide a reference for the implementation of SDM in closed psychiatric wards.

To mitigate carbon dioxide (CO) emissions and advance carbon neutrality, the conversion of CO into value-added fuels and chemicals via the reverse water-gas shift (RWGS) reaction is recognized as a promising approach. In this study, we designed platinum (Pt)-loaded nitrogen-doped carbon composite dual-phase titanium dioxide (TiO) nanomaterials to achieve efficient photo-thermal performance in the RWGS reaction. The incorporation of Pt, nitrogen doping, and the selection of an appropriate calcination temperature enhance light responsiveness and reduce the recombination of photo-generated carriers, thereby improving the efficiency of the photo-thermal RWGS reaction.
