Importance: As average life expectancy increases, the role of beauty in quality of life (QOL) becomes more important. Invasive rejuvenation methods, such as cosmetic surgery and botulinum toxin injections, do not address the underlying causes of facial aging, are expensive, and carry inherent risks. Acupuncture, as a holistic alternative, may offer a safer method for facial rejuvenation by addressing the overall health of the body.

Tissue engineering uses the body's natural capabilities and applies biomaterials and bioactive molecules to replace damaged or lost tissues and restore their functionality. While synthetic ceramics have overcome some challenges associated with allografts and xenografts, they still need essential growth factors and biomolecules.

NPS are designed to mimic the psychoactive effects of unregulated or controlled drugs, while constantly being modified to evade drug control regulation. Hence, they are referred to as "legal highs", as they are technically legal to sell, possess, and use.

We aimed to investigate the causal role of circulating metabolites in AAM and ANM using Mendelian randomization (MR).
Methods: We combined MR with genetic colocalization to investigate potential causal associations between 658 metabolites and AAM and between 684 metabolites and ANM.
Background: Statins are currently widely used in the prevention of coronary artery disease (CAD) primarily for lipid-lowering with a potential anti-inflammatory effect. However, it is not clear if their potential anti-inflammatory effects are mediated through the interleukin 6 (IL-6) signaling pathway.
Methods: Using the Mendelian randomization (MR) approach followed by multivariable MR analyses, we examined the extent to which the effects of statins on CAD might be mediated through the IL-6 signaling pathway.
Associations between mineral intake and mortality in non-Western countries have not been studied adequately. This study evaluated these associations in the Golestan Cohort Study, featuring a Middle Eastern population. The mineral intake was estimated from the baseline food frequency questionnaire, adjusted by using the nutrient density method, and divided into quintiles.

Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) is critical due to large inter- and intra-individual variability in busulfan pharmacokinetics, and the risk of adverse consequences of toxicity including hepatic veno-occlusive disease. Busulfan is most commonly measured by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), which is not as widely available in clinical laboratories as automated routine clinical chemistry analyzers.

We aimed to identify circulating proteins associated with altered ANM and AAM using an unbiased two-sample Mendelian randomization (MR) and colocalization approach. By testing causal effects of 1,271 proteins on AAM, we identified 22 proteins causally associated with AAM in MR, among which 13 proteins (GCKR, FOXO3, SEMA3G, PATE4, AZGP1, NEGR1, LHB, DLK1, ANXA2, YWHAB, DNAJB12, RMDN1 and HPGDS) colocalized.

New treatment techniques may be guided by a better understanding of these cells and their potential in terms of the specificity of the regenerative response. MicroRNAs have been recognized as an essential component in stem cell biology due to their role as epigenetic regulators of the processes that determine stem cell destiny.

The selectivity of ketonization reaction in the conversion of the FAMEs has significantly hampered the efficiency of this process. Herein, this work reports the preparation of catalysts with different levels of oxygen vacancies while the crystal phase remained unchanged.

The role of micronutrients such as iron, zinc, and vitamins, especially vitamin D, on the natural hair cycle is well defined in literature. This study aims to evaluate the correlation between vitamin D and CRP levels in patients with alopecia areata.

To elucidate the underlying biological mechanisms, we performed multi-ancestry genetic analyses in ~800,000 women, identifying 1,080 independent signals associated with age at menarche. Collectively these loci explained 11% of the trait variance in an independent sample, with women at the top and bottom 1% of polygenic risk exhibiting a ~11 and ~14-fold higher risk of delayed and precocious pubertal development, respectively.

The aldosterone/renin ratio is an important tool for PA screening, and dynamic testing in serum or urine is used to confirm the diagnosis. While LC-MS/MS is considered the gold standard for testing, there is significant interlaboratory variability between the extraction procedures, which can impact diagnostic interpretation.

Objective: There have been some studies on the relationship between vitamin D statuses in infectious diseases including cutaneous leishmaniasis. However, the results of these studies have been inconsistent.
Background: Post-transplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) encompasses new-onset and previously unrecognized type 2 diabetes. Kidney failure masks type 2 diabetes. Branched-chain amino acids (BCAA) are closely associated with glucose metabolism.

However, reports globally revealed farmers' engagement in climate change adaptation is still insufficient, ambivalent, and inconsistent and farmers do not consider adaptation to be urgent. Researchers have argued that this issue is rooted in psychological biases beside other factors.

This research empirically analyses the association between agricultural experts' perceptions about climate change and their intention to implement climate change mitigation. Based on survey data, individuals' reported intention to implement personal and professional mitigation behavior is explained using a conceptual model.
