Background: the Naples Prognostic Score is a novel scoring system designed to provide a comprehensive assessment of patients' inflammation and nutritional status. Aim: our aim was to investigate the correlation between the Naples Prognostic Score and arterial stiffness, a factor known to be linked with heart failure and acute coronary syndrome. Materials and methods: this prospective study included 142 consecutive patients without a history of cardiovascular disease, inflammatory disease, immunological disease, malignancy, or comorbid conditions other than hypertension.

Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Fatty Liver Disease and Fibrosis Status in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Treated at Internal Medicine Clinics: Türkiye DAHUDER Awareness of Fatty Liver Disease (TR-DAFLD) Study.

This awareness study aimed to determine the ultrasound (US) examination rates in relation to US-confirmed metabolic dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) diagnosis in internal medicine outpatients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) across Türkiye. A total of 6283 T2D patients were included in this multicenter retrospective cohort study conducted at 17 internal medicine clinics across Türkiye. The presence and indications for US performed within the last 3 years were recorded along with US-confirmed MAFLD rates, laboratory findings on the day of US, and referral rates.

Can Fetuin-A Deficiency Predict the Severity of COVID-19 Disease in Kidney Transplant Recipients?

Background: This study aims to investigate whether fetuin A deficiency predicts the prognosis of COVID-19 disease in kidney transplant recipients (KTRs).

Method: The study was conducted on 35 hospitalized KTRs with COVID-19 pneumonia between November 2020 and June 2021. Serums were collected for fetuin-A measurement at admission and after six months of follow-up.

Background: The self-video feedback method may have the potential to provide a low-cost alternative to physician-driven simulation-based training. This study aimed to assess the utility of two video feedback methods by comparing the improvement in performing cricothyroidotomy procedure following self video feedback (trainees review their performance by themselves) and expert-assisted video feedback (trainees review their performance while an emergency physician provides additional feedback).

Methods: This study was pretest-posttest and two-group designed research performed at a university simulation center with 89 final-year medical students and used a cricothyroidotomy simulation model.

Background: The aim of this study was to examine the content, reliability, popularity, and quality of YouTube videos for patients learning how to self-administer subcutaneous low molecular weight heparin injections.

Methods: A systematic review of YouTube videos was conducted on August 20, 2021, using the keywords of "Low-molecular-weight heparin injection," "Enoxaparin injection," "Heparin injection," "Dalteparin injection," and "Tinzaparin injection." Two independent emergency physicians evaluated included videos separately with 5 different score systems (1- Journal of American Medical Association Score, 2-The Video Power Index, 3- Global Quality Scale, 4- Modified 5 Point DISCERN, 5- Total Comprehensiveness Score).
