Background: the Naples Prognostic Score is a novel scoring system designed to provide a comprehensive assessment of patients' inflammation and nutritional status. Aim: our aim was to investigate the correlation between the Naples Prognostic Score and arterial stiffness, a factor known to be linked with heart failure and acute coronary syndrome. Materials and methods: this prospective study included 142 consecutive patients without a history of cardiovascular disease, inflammatory disease, immunological disease, malignancy, or comorbid conditions other than hypertension.

In the literature, the effects of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and their inflammatory phenotypes on cancer cells have been a subject of controversy. Therefore, it is crucial to elucidate the underlying mechanisms of this interaction, especially in the context of pancreatic cancer.

Introduction: Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) is a receptor that traditionally plays an important role in immunomodulation (regulation of the immune system) and the initiation of proinflammatory responses. TLR4 is used in the body to recognize molecular patterns of pathogens or damaged cells from outside. However, in recent years, it has also become clear that TLR4 can affect the immune system and the function of stem cells, especially mesenchymal stem cells.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has been used to predict the spread of the virus and diagnose and treat the disease. In this study, we aimed to predict whether patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) due to COVID-19 infection will result in mortality.

Despite advancements in diagnosis and treatment, the survival rate of patients with advanced HCC remains low, creating an urgent need for new therapeutic targets and strategies. One biological process crucial to HCC progression is the epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT).

Objective: Efficacy of the COVID-19 vaccines in cancer patients, especially during their active treatment, are lacking. Most of the studies in the literature compared the immunity in cancer patients with a cross-sectional cohort or retrospectively. Our study investigated Sinovac-CoronaVac COVID-19 vaccine immunogenicity and compared it with natural COVID-19 disease in cancer patients during their cancer therapy.

Nonetheless, their purity, pluripotency, differentiation capacity, and stem cell marker expression might vary greatly depending on technique and tools used for extraction and harvesting. There are two methods described in the literature for isolating regenerative cells from adipose tissue.

Method: The study was conducted on 35 hospitalized KTRs with COVID-19 pneumonia between November 2020 and June 2021. Serums were collected for fetuin-A measurement at admission and after six months of follow-up.

Objective: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2), was first detected in December 2019 and then spread globally, resulting in a pandemic. Initially, it was unknown if chronic kidney disease (CKD) contributed to the mortality caused by COVID-19. The immunosuppression associated with this disease may minimize the COVID-19-described hyper-inflammatory state or immunological dysfunction, and a high prevalence of comorbidities may lead to a poorer clinical prognosis.

It is intravitreally administered to ocular compartments, and the treatment requires frequent injections, which may cause complications and patient discomfort. To reduce the number of injections, alternative treatment strategies based on relatively non-invasive ranibizumab delivery are desired for more effective and sustained release in the eye vitreous than the current clinical practice.

Familiarity with the signs and symptoms of thrombosis and its treatment is essential in treating COVID-19 infection and its complications. D-Dimer and mean platelet volume (MPV) are measurements related to the development of thrombosis.

Leptospirosis is one of the most common zoonoses in the world, yet it is mainly a disease of differential diagnosis for places that do not have it as an endemic. Due to the high burden of COVID-19 on the healthcare field, patients suffering from other infections may have been inadvertently neglected.

Thus, it is crucial to develop new treatment options for the effective regeneration of the cartilage tissue. Current cellular therapy treatment options are microfracture and autologous chondrocyte implantation; however, these treatments induce the formation of fibrous cartilage, which degenerates over time, rather than functional hyaline cartilage tissue.

Objective: This study aims at determining the significance of a novel inflammatory biomarker, presepsin, in predicting disease prognosis in patients with COVID-19.
Patients And Methods: This retrospective study was concluded at the University Hospital between April and August 2020. The study involved 88 COVID-19 patients (48 men and 40 women).
Objectives: To investigate the role of asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA) level in predicting intensive care and mortality in patients affected with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Methods: This retrospective, cross-sectional study was conducted at Sakarya University Training and Research Hospital (Sakarya, Turkey) between April and August of 2020. We enrolled patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 via real-time reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction and admitted to the intensive care (Severe COVID-19; S-COVID) or non intensive care (Moderate COVID-19; M-COVID).
Purpose: In our study, diagnostic and demographic characteristics of patients diagnosed with minimal change disease (MCD) by biopsy, clinical and laboratory findings in our country were investigated.
Methods: Data were obtained from the Turkish Society of Nephrology Glomerular Diseases (TSN-GOLD) Working Group database. Demographic characteristics, indications for biopsy, diagnosis of the glomerular diseases, comorbidities, laboratory and biopsy findings of all patients were recorded.
Objective: To investigate and compare complete blood count and biochemistry parameters such as c-reactive protein/albumin (CRP/ALB) ratio, procalcitonin/albumin (PRO/ALB) ratio, lymphocyte/monocyte (LYM/MON) ratio, platelet/lymphocyte (PLT/LYM) ratio of the recovered/deceased, and ICU (intensive care unit) /ward patients with COVID-19.
Study Design: An observational study.

Objective: SARS-CoV-2 infection primarily affects T-lymphocytes, particularly CD4+ and CD8+ T cells. However, there is a need for simpler and less expensive laboratory tests with predictive values comparable to CD4+ cell counts. Thus, the goal of this study was to investigate the role of neopterin levels in predicting intensive care and mortality in coronavirus disease patients in 2019.

This study aimed to assess the utility of two video feedback methods by comparing the improvement in performing cricothyroidotomy procedure following self video feedback (trainees review their performance by themselves) and expert-assisted video feedback (trainees review their performance while an emergency physician provides additional feedback).
Methods: This study was pretest-posttest and two-group designed research performed at a university simulation center with 89 final-year medical students and used a cricothyroidotomy simulation model.
