Pneumoparotid with imaging findings: A case report and review of literature.

Background: Pneumoparotid is a rare disease associated with retrograde airflow into the ductal system. There is no established treatment for this disease, which has no known complications. Mouth puffing and playing wind instruments are known to be the causes of this disease.

Improved detectability of thromboses of the lower limb using low kilovoltage computed tomography.

To determine the utility of low kilovoltage computed tomographic venography (CTV) for the detection of deep venous thrombus in the lower limbs.Twenty-one thrombi in 19 enrolled patients were investigated in this retrospective study. Patients were initially scanned using CTV at 100 kVp, at the femur level, followed by an immediate switch to 80 kVp.

Absent skeletal uptake of (99m)Tc-hydroxymethylene diphosphonate in the presence of AL-type amyloidosis associated with multiple myeloma.

A 66-year-old woman with congestive heart failure suspected to have multiple myeloma underwent bone scintigraphy. The bone scintigraphy using technetium-99m hydroxymethylene-diphosphonate showed the following interesting findings: absent skeletal uptake; increased gastrointestinal, myocardial, and soft tissue uptake; migration of radionuclide to bilateral pleural effusions. Histopathological examination revealed that the patient suffered from AL-type amyloidosis associated with multiple myeloma.
