The rapid emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) bacteria represents a critical global health threat, underscoring the urgent need for alternative antimicrobial strategies beyond conventional antibiotics. In this study, we report the synthesis of novel biobased antimicrobial polymers bearing quaternary ammonium salts, derived from sustainable feedstocks, maleic anhydride, dimethylaminobenzaldehyde, and furfurylamine. The functional tricyclic oxanorbornene lactam monomer is polymerized via ring opening metathesis polymerization, yielding well-defined polymers with controlled molar masses and low dispersity.

Background: Current guidelines for screening glucose dysregulation (GD) in patients with transfusion-dependent thalassemia (TDT) recommend an annual 2-hour oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) starting at the age of 10 years.
Objective: Assessment of adherence to OGTT screening in patients with TDT.
Methods: A questionnaire was distributed to 18 Thalassemia Centers in 10 different countries, targeting factors influencing adherence to annual OGTT screening in specialized multidisciplinary pediatric and adult TDT units and identifying strategies to improve adherence to OGTT in TDT patients.
RP-HPLC technique was developed and optimized for simultaneous identification and estimation of nirmatrelvir (NIR) and ritonavir (RIT) in their new copackaged tablet. Stability of nirmatrelvir (NIR) was studied after exposure to different five stress conditions; alkali, acid, heat, photo and oxidation degradation. The chromatographic separation was achieved using VDSpher PUR 100 ODS (4.

Utilizing PubMed as the primary database, a systematic search strategy was developed using BA guidelines, incorporating keyword and MeSH term refinements for comprehensive data retrieval. A Boolean operator-based search strategy was applied, capturing literature from 2014 to the first quarter of 2024, with inclusion criteria focusing on articles and review articles published in English.

The diabetes burden in the USA is predicted to triple by 2060 necessitating strategic diabetes prevention efforts, particularly in areas of highest need. This study aimed to identify pre-diabetes hotspots using geospatial mapping to inform targeted diabetes prevention strategies.

Therefore, this study aimed to summarize renal ADRs related to TKIs use in CML and propose an evidence-based approach to monitor and manage these ADRs.
Methods: A systematic literature review was performed to identify renal ADRs associated with TKIs in CML.
Background: This study was designed to compare the effectiveness of manual therapy alone and a combination of it and TECAR (Transfer Energy Capacitive and Resistive) therapies on the conditions of pain, disability, and neck range of motion (ROM) in patients with non-specific chronic neck pain (NCNP).
Methods: In this Randomized controlled study, 30 women with non-specific chronic neck pain were randomly divided into two groups: Manual therapy along with TECAR therapy (intervention group) and single manual therapy (control group). The participants were homogenized in terms of age, height, and weight.
Binocular vision may serve as a good model for research on awareness. Binocular summation (BS) can be defined as the superiority of binocular over monocular visual performance. Early studies of BS found an improvement of a factor of about 1.

Conventional cancer therapies, particularly chemotherapy, often face constraints such as low selectivity, insufficient solubility, and multidrug resistance (MDR), which diminish effectiveness and exacerbate negative effects. Metal oxide nanoparticles (MONPs), such as iron oxide, zinc oxide, and copper oxide, offer a promising solution by enhancing targeted drug delivery, reducing systemic toxicity, and mitigating chemotherapy-induced disabilities like neurotoxicity and cardiotoxicity.

(Maize) is one of the most crucial world's crops, for their nutritional values, however, the water scarcity and consequent soil salinization are the major challenges that limit the growth and productivity of this plant, particularly in the semi-arid regions in Egypt. Recently, biopriming has been recognized as one of the most efficient natural-ecofriendly approaches to mitigate the abiotic salt stress on plants.

The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of meropenem in combination was found to be ~1/12 of its MIC alone. The results of microtiter dilution assay showed that the combination was more efficient in reducing the biofilm biomass than meropenem alone or ZnO-NPs alone.

Transcatheter aortic valve replacement has emerged as an effective alternative to surgery in selected patients with aortic stenosis. It needs to be made clear which type of valve has better results in patients with small aortic annulus. We searched PubMed, Scopus, Embase, Cochrane Library, and Web of Science, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses statement.

While autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA) is commonly associated with lymphoproliferative disorders such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia, its occurrence in CML is rare, with only a few documented cases. Here, we report a case of concurrent chronic-phase CML and AIHA.

In this study, patients with upper trapezius myofascial pain syndrome had their pain intensity, cervical range of motion, and disability evaluated in relation to the effectiveness of high intensity laser therapy and dry needling.
Methods: 32 participants with active upper trapezius myofascial trigger points were split into two groups at random: one group received high intensity laser treatment (n = 16), while the other received dry needling (n = 16).
Introduction: Several meta-analyses (MAs) of the efficacy and safety of daratumumab in refractory/relapsed multiple myeloma (RRMM) exist. They include different types of populations, Daratumumab regimens, and outcomes. Moreover, there is a wide variation in methodological quality and risk of bias.

The present diagnostic techniques, like CT and MRI, have some limitations in distinguishing acute from chronic ischemia and in early ischemia detection. This study investigates the function of ensemble models based on the dynamic radiomics features (DRF) from the dynamic susceptibility contrast perfusion-weighted imaging (DSC-PWI) ischemic stroke diagnosis, neurological impairment assessment, and modified Rankin Scale (mRS) outcome prediction).

Methods: PubMed, Cochrane, Scopus, and Web of Science were searched for eligible randomized controlled trials comparing veliparib plus chemotherapy to standard chemotherapy in adult lung cancer patients, until July 2023. The main outcomes were overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS).
Background: Odontoid process fractures, particularly type 2 fractures, pose significant treatment challenges due to their high rates of nonunion. Anterior odontoid screw fixation (AOSF) is traditionally performed using percutaneous methods with biplanar fluoroscopy. Computer-assisted navigation has emerged as a promising tool to enhance surgical precision, but its application in AOSF is rarely utilized.
