Twelve marine bacterial bacilli were isolated from the seawater of Mediterranean Sea, Egypt, then screened for EPS production. The most potent isolate was identified genetically as Bacillus paralicheniformis ND2 by16S rRNA gene sequence of ~99 % similarity.
