Background/purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK) outcomes and develop a nomogram to compute the probability of 3- and 5-year DSEK graft survival based on risk factors.

Study Design/methods: The medical records of 794 DSEK procedures between January 1, 2008, and August 1, 2019, were retrospectively reviewed to identify 37 variables. We also evaluated for the presence of corneal graft failure, defined as irreversible and visually significant graft edema, haze, or scarring.

Purpose: To evaluate the long term visual, refractive, and corneal tomographic outcomes of epithelium-off accelerated corneal collagen cross-linking (ACXL) in the management of pediatric keratoconus (KC).

Methods: This retrospective study included patients under 18 years old with progressive KC who underwent ACXL between 2012 and 2019 at Dicle University Hospital. Complete ophthalmic examination was performed including uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), best spectacle-corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), manifest refraction, and corneal tomography.

Purpose: To review the graft and visual outcomes in a series of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) who underwent Descemet stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK).

Methods: In this case series, the electronic medical records at Wills Eye Hospital were queried for cases of patients with RA who underwent DSEK between January 1, 2009 and September 1, 2018. Charts were reviewed to obtain demographic data, medical history, ocular history, surgical variables, graft survival, and visual acuity outcomes.

Purpose: To measure the vascular density (VD) and foveal avascular zone (FAZ) area in patients with Behçet's disease (BD) obtained by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA).

Methods: VD and FAZ area in the deep and superficial retinal vascular networks were measured in all eyes.

Results: Thirty BD and 31 control subjects were included in the study.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate patients with activation of toxoplasma retinochoroiditis during pregnancy and ocular findings in newborns. A total of 17 pregnant patients who were clinically and serologically diagnosed with ocular toxoplasmosis were retrospectively reviewed. After birth, ocular findings for all infants were recorded.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate choroidal thickness (CT) in patients with psoriasis using enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) and to determine its relationship with psoriasis activity indices. In this prospective study, EDI-OCT images were obtained in consecutive patients with psoriasis and in age-gender-matched healthy individuals. Comprehensive ophthalmic examination and EDI-OCT evaluation were performed.

Purpose: The objective of this study was to evaluate serum omentin, resistin and tumour necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) levels in Behcet disease (BD) patients with and without ocular involvement, as well as control subjects.

Methods: Omentin, resistin and TNF-α levels were assessed in the plasma of 51 BD patients and compared with those of 24 control subjects.

Results: The plasma resistin and TNF-α levels were significantly higher in the BD patients than in the control group (p = 0.

Objective: To evaluate the changes in psychological distress level and quality of life (QoL) scores of keratoconus (KC) patients 1 year after corneal collagen cross-linking (CXL).

Methods: Observational cross-sectional study. Thirty-three, consecutive progressive KC patients who received CXL treatment were enrolled in the study.

Purpose: In this study, we examined the spectral domain optical coherence tomography (OCT) findings of ocular Behçet's disease (OB) in patients with inactive uveitis. Specifically, we analyzed the inner and outer segment junction (IS/OS line) integrity and the effect of disturbed IS/OS line integrity on visual acuity.

Methods: Patient files and OCT images of OB patients who had been followed-up between January and June of the year 2013 at the Dicle University Eye Clinic were evaluated retrospectively.

Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the etiologic and prognostic factors of open eye injuries in geriatric patients in the Southeastern region of Anatolia.

Methods: Forty-five geriatric patients who underwent surgery for an open eye injury in our clinic between the years of 2008 and 2012 were evaluated retrospectively. Age, gender, cause and the mechanism of the trauma, visual acuity (VA), and the time between the trauma and the surgery were obtained from files and evaluated.

Purpose: To measure and investigate visual functioning and health-related quality of life (QOL) in patients after ocular penetrating injuries (OPI).

Methods: Fifty-four adult patients with OPI and 26 healthy control subjects were enrolled in the study. The National Eye Institute Visual Functioning Questionnaire (NEI VFQ-25) and the 36-Item Short Form Health Survey (SF 36) were administered.

In this study, the authors aimed to evaluate ocular blood flow changes in Behçet disease (BD) with and without thrombotic disease. Ninety eyes of 90 patients with a diagnosis of BD (30 eyes with active uveitis, 23 eyes with inactive uveitis, 25 eyes without ocular involvement, and 12 eyes without ocular involvement and with a history of thrombosis) and 30 eyes of 30 age- and sex-matched control patients without any systemic disease with a total of 120 eyes were evaluated. In all cases, ophthalmic, central retinal, and ciliary artery flow parameters were measured with colour Doppler ultrasonography (CDU).

Background: Rabbit is one of the most commonly used experimental animals for corneal studies due to similarity of size to human cornea and ease of manipulation. In this study, we assessed anterior segment parameters of the healthy rabbit eyes with Pentacam HR (Oculus, Wetzlar, Germany).

Methods: Six-month-old, approximately 2.

Objective: To compare central corneal thickness (CCT) measurements with a rotating Scheimpflug camera (RSC), noncontact specular microscopy (SM), optical low-coherence reflectometry (OLCR), and ultrasonic pachymetry (UP) in keratoconus (KC) patients.

Method: In this prospective study, four CCT measurements taken with an RSC, SM, OLCR, and UP were compared in 81 eyes of 44 consecutive KC patients. The KC patients were divided into four subgroups according to Amsler-Krumeich's KC classification.
