Comparison of tip-bendable aspiration-assisted and standard access sheaths in the treatment of lower calyceal stones.

Objective: The aim of this study was to compare the success and complication rates of retrograde intrarenal surgery for lower calyceal renal stones performed with novel tip-bendable suction ureteral access sheaths and standard ureteral access sheaths.

Methods: Between March 2023 and March 2024, a total of 88 patients underwent retrograde intrarenal surgery for lower renal calyceal stones smaller than 20 mm. Based on the access sheath used, patients were divided into two groups: Group 1 (n=43) included patients treated with novel tip-bendable suction ureteral access sheaths and Group 2 (n=45) included patients treated with standard ureteral access sheaths.

Background: Dent's disease (DD) is a rare X-linked recessive tubulopathy characterized by low molecular weight proteinuria, hypercalciuria, nephrocalcinosis/nephrolithiasis and chronic kidney disease. In this study, further treatment of coking wastewater treated in anoxic-oxic-membrane bioreactor (AO-MBR) was investigated to meet the standards of the ministry by means of nanofiltration (NF) (with two different membranes and different pressures), microfiltration -powder activated carbon (MF-PAC) hybrid system and NF-PAC (with two different membranes and five different PAC concentrations) hybrid system. In addition to the parameters determined by the ministry, other parameters such as ammonium, thiocyanate (SCN), hydrogen cyanide (HCN), dissolved organic carbon (DOC), dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), color were also examined to evaluate the flux performance and treatment efficiency of the hybrid processes. Microwave hyperthermia (MH) requires the effective calibration of antenna excitations for the selective focusing of the microwave energy on the target region, with a nominal effect on the surrounding tissue. To this end, many different antenna calibration methods, such as optimization techniques and look-up tables, have been proposed in the literature. A new deep learning pipeline to detect Covid-19 on chest X-ray images using local binary pattern, dual tree complex wavelet transform and convolutional neural networks.

In this study, which aims at early diagnosis of Covid-19 disease using X-ray images, the deep-learning approach, a state-of-the-art artificial intelligence method, was used, and automatic classification of images was performed using convolutional neural networks (CNN). In the first training-test data set used in the study, there were 230 X-ray images, of which 150 were Covid-19 and 80 were non-Covid-19, while in the second training-test data set there were 476 X-ray images, of which 150 were Covid-19 and 326 were non-Covid-19. Thus, classification results have been provided for two data sets, containing predominantly Covid-19 images and predominantly non-Covid-19 images, respectively.
