It is characterized by a decrease in insulin secretion or a decrease in insulin sensitivity or both. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effects of resveratrol treatment on the expression of the genes involved in insulin signalling cascade, such as Forkhead box protein O1 (FoxO1), 3-phosphoinositide-dependent protein kinase 1 (PDPK1) and mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR).

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes some investigations show the association of lipoprotein-associated phospholipase A2 mass and activity with the incidence of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in populations with high prevalences of insulin resistance and diabetes. This study is a cross-sectional descriptive and analytic study on 80 individuals with diabetes referring to the Tehran Diabetes Association.
