Activating transcription factor 3 (ATF3) is an adaptive‑response gene of the ATF family. ATF3 activity may be induced in response to a number of different stress-associated signals and ATF3 is involved in a variety of cellular processes. However, the functions of ATF3 and its molecular networks in human hepatoma cells lines and hepatitis C virus-infected Huh7 (HCV-Huh7) cells are not well understood.
