Background: Constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-C) is a chronic functional intestinal disease that can significantly reduce patients' quality of life.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the clinical effect and mechanism of YunPi RouGan (YPRG) prescription on IBS-C patients with liver-depression and spleen-deficiency syndrome.

Methods: 42 IBS-C patients receiving treatment at Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from May 2022 to March 2023 were recruited and randomly assigned to either the treatment or control group, with 21 patients in each group.

In this study, 14α-hydroxymatrine, an active component of Kushen injection, was found to possess high binding free energy with the allosteric site of PAK1 by molecular docking based virtual screening.

Huangqin Decoction Delays Progress of Colitis-Associated Carcinogenesis by Regulating Nrf2/HO-1 Antioxidant Signal Pathway in Mice.

Objective: To investigate the effect of Huangqin Decoction (HQD) on nuclear factor erythroid 2 related-factor 2 (Nrf2)/heme oxygenase (HO-1) signaling pathway by inducing the colitis-associated carcinogenesis (CAC) model mice with azoxymethane (AOM)/dextran sodium sulfate (DSS).

Methods: The chemical components of HQD were analyzed by liquid chromatography-quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-Q-TOF-MS/MS) to determine the molecular constituents of HQD. Totally 48 C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 6 groups by a random number table, including control, model (AOM/DSS), mesalazine (MS), low-, medium-, and high-dose HQD (HQD-L, HQD-M, and HQD-H) groups, 8 mice in each group.

Characterizing the compounds of Shidan granule and exploring the absorbed prototype constituents and metabolites in the blood is significant to understand its effective compounds. In this work, a reliable approach based on ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography combined with quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry was performed for systematic analysis of chemical substances of Shidan granule and their metabolites in rat plasma.

Background: The imbalance of Treg/Thl7 cells and inflammatory injury are believed to be involved in the development of ulcerative colitis (UC). Meanwhile, 6-gingerol has been reported to alleviate intestinal inflammatory damage in mice models, but the underlying mechanism remains elusive.

Methods: In this study, dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced colitis mice models were established to examine the effects of 6-gingerol on IL-17 and IL-10 secretion, and the activation of NF-κB signaling was evaluated using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), Western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
