Introduction: This study aimed to develop a deep learning-based method for interpreting magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) anterior disc displacement (ADD) and to formulate an automated diagnostic system for clinical practice.
Methods: The deep learning models were utilized to identify regions of interest (ROI), segment TMJ structures including the articular disc, condyle, glenoid fossa, and articular tubercle, and classify TMJ ADD. The models employed Grad-CAM heatmaps and segmentation annotation diagrams for visual diagnostic predictions and were deployed for clinical application.
Background: This study aims to assess the therapeutic efficacy of a modified arthroscopy discopexy suturing technique in combination with an anterior disc repositioning splint (ARS) for the treatment of early phase anterior disc displacement without reduction (ADDwoR) patients.
Methods: During 2021-2022, early phase ADDwoR cases were included and underwent modified arthroscopy discopexy suturing surgery and ARS therapy after surgery. Pre- and post-surgical evaluation parameters include the visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain, maximum mouth opening (MMO), and disc-condyle relationship on MRI.
Objectives: To analyse the correlation between temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disc perforation and degenerative joint changes (DJC) on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and related factors.
Study Design: A total of 238 female patients with anterior disc displacement without reduction (ADDwoR), accounting for 348 affected joints, requiring TMJ disc open anchorage surgery were included in the study conducted from June 2021 to August 2022. Following TMJ disc open anchorage surgery, patients were divided into two groups: disc perforation (DP) and disc non-perforation (DNP).
In this report, the authors describe a case of the acute anterior disc displacement without reduction treated by manipulative reduction combined with the disc-condyle repositioning splint to improve the limited mouth opening and relieve the pain, including diagnostic images and treatment performed.

Background: Anterior Disc Displacement without Reduction (ADDwoR) in adolescence can result in condylar resorption which produces mandibular retrusion/deviation (MR/D) in adulthood. This study aims to analyze the therapeutic effect of simultaneous genioplasty and temporomandibular joint (TMJ) anchorage surgery on ADDwoR with MR/D patients.
Methods: During 2016-2018, ADDwoR with MR/D cases were included and underwent TMJ anchorage surgery and genioplasty guided by digital design.

We studied 28 joints with internal derangement in 23 patients, all of whom had had arthroscopic surgery (lavage, lysis of adhesions in the superior compartment, incision parallel to the disc-synovial crease of the upper joint compartment, and pull back of the anteriorly located disc).
