Research on human glioma stem cells began early in the 21 century and since then has become a rapidly growing research field with the number of publications increasing year by year. The research conducted by our diverse group of investigators focused primarily on cell culture techniques, molecular regulation, signaling pathways, cancer treatment, the stem cell microenvironment and the cellular origin and function of glioma stem cells. In particular, we put forward our view that there are inverse or forward transformations among neural stem cells, glial cells and glioma stem cells in glioma tissues under certain conditions.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy differences among warming-promotion acupuncture, regular acupuncture and psychological care for post-earthquake depression.

Methods: Ninety cases of post-earthquake depression in Gansu province were randomly divided into a warming-promotion acupuncture group, a regular acupuncture group and a care group, 30 cases in each one. The psychological treatment was applied in the care group; the regular acupuncture at Baihui (GV 20), Sishencong (EX-HN 1)), Fengchi (GB 20), Shenmen (HT 7), Yang-lingquan (GB 34), Taichong (LR 3) and Sanyinjiao (SP 6) was used in the regular acupuncture group; based on the treatment of regular acupuncture group, the warming-promotion acupuncture was applied in the warming-promotion acupuncture group, once a day.

Objective: To explore a more optimal therapy for chronic prostatitis.

Methods: Ninty cases of chronic prostitis were randomized into a warming-promoting needling and target penetrating needling method group (WT group), a conventional acupuncture group (CA group) and a medication group (M group), 30 cases in each one. The warming-promoting needling method was applied at Zhongji (CV 3), Guanyuan (CV 4), Qihai (CV 6), Daheng (SP 15), Qichong (ST 30) in the WT group, the needling sensation was targeted towards the prostate, once daily; in CA group, conventional acupuncture was applied at the same acupoints of WT group; Qianliekang tablets was prescribed to the M group.

Background: The primary reasons for local recurrence and therapeutic failure in the treatment of malignant gliomas are the invasion and interactions of tumor cells with surrounding normal brain cells. However, these tumor cells are hard to be visualized directly in histopathological preparations, or in experimental glioma models. Background: Despite the advances made during decades of research, the mechanisms by which glioma is initiated and established remain elusive. Objective: To search for an effective therapy for allergic rhinitis.
