The functional gas sensor device plays a pivotal role in intelligent medical treatment, among which metal oxide semiconductors are widely studied because of their inexpensiveness and ease of fabrication. However, the metal oxide sensors present a significant challenge in detecting NH at ppm levels within complex exhaled gases. Herein, the ZnO/PdO- series were prepared by in situ loading palladium particles and calcining using nano-ZIF-8 as a precursor, which not only provided more transport path for ammonia adsorption but also achieved homogeneous nanoheterojunction accumulation structure.

Background: Superior semicircular canal dehiscence (SSCD) is a vestibular-cochlear disorder in humans in which a pathological third mobile window of the otic capsule creates changes to the flow of sound pressure energy through the perilymph/endolymph. The primary symptoms include sound-induced dizziness/vertigo, inner ear conductive hearing loss, autophony, headaches, and visual problems. We have developed an animal model of this human condition in the Mongolian Gerbil that uses surgically created SSCD to induce the condition.

Background: Despite the growing number of studies investigating the connection between host genetics and the rumen microbiota, there remains a dearth of systematic research exploring the composition, function, and metabolic traits of highly heritable rumen microbiota influenced by host genetics. Furthermore, the impact of these highly heritable subsets on lactation performance in cows remains unknown. To address this gap, we collected and analyzed whole-genome resequencing data, rumen metagenomes, rumen metabolomes and short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) content, and lactation performance phenotypes from a cohort of 304 dairy cows.

Background: Patellar fracture is a common injury caused by overstrain of the extensor mechanism or a direct trauma to the knee. The most common complications after patellar fracture are nonunion, infection, post-traumatic arthritis, joint fibrosis, symptomatic hardware, and extensor mechanism failure. These are attributed to the post-fracture flexion and extension movements, the primary damage to the articular cartilage, and the thin soft tissue coverage over the knee.
