Article Synopsis
  • Passive radiative cooling is an energy-efficient technology that cools surfaces by reflecting sunlight and emitting heat without energy consumption.* -
  • The study details the creation of a 3D coating made of silica microspheres and boron nitride nanosheets, which enhances solar reflectance and infrared emittance, achieving significant cooling effects (up to 17.5 °C).* -
  • Additionally, the coating features self-cleaning and corrosion resistance, highlighting its potential for long-term use in various applications while improving energy-saving cooling technologies.*

Objective: The concept of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) has been proposed to provide guidance for the improved postoperative rehabilitation of patients with occipitocervical region disease (ORD).

Methods: This study retrospectively investigated 208 consecutive patients (116 men and 92 women) ranging in age from 22 to 76 years with ORD between July 2014 and June 2017 in our medical center, who were divided into three groups that received different preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative management plans: traditional group (n = 73), ameliorated group (n = 70), and ERAS group (n = 65). We compiled a range of data relating to demographics and postoperative changes in hemoglobin and albumin, surgery duration, intraoperative blood loss, number of postoperative hospitalization days and expenses, readmission rates, and visual analog scale pain symptoms.

With the long-term and widespread application of antimalarial drugs, has gradually produced resistance to antimalarial drugs. At present, there are more researches on the molecular markers of drug resistance, while less attention has been paid to the molecular markers of non- drug resistance. In order to provide the reference for rational drug use in clinical treatment and reference for molecular monitoring of antimalarial drug sensitivity of non-, this paper reviews the researches on the common molecular markers related to non drug resistance.

Objective: To establish a systemized malaria biobank with well-rounded epidemiologic data and a computer-aid management system, thus to provide qualified sources for malaria elimination and human malaria research.

Methods: The malaria biobank was based on the platform of Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Diseases. The blood smear samples, dried blood samples, whole blood samples and parasite strains isolated from patients (from both local and imported cases) were collected since 2011 according to a standardized operational procedure.

There were vivax malaria, falciparum malaria, and malariae malaria epidemic in Jiangsu Province, and vivax malaria was the dominant disease. and were malaria-transmitted vectors. Since the founding of People's Republic of China, there have been two major malaria outbreaks in Jiangsu Province, when the highest annual malaria incidence reached up to 24.

Rationale: Gallstone disease is commonly worldwide and safely treated by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Chylous ascites is a rare but serious complication of many abdominal operations.

Patient Concerns: We present a rare case of refractory chyle leakage post-LC for acute cholecystitis that is successfully treated in a 40-year-old man, and review current literature on the prevalence, diagnosis, and management of this complication.

Objective: To understand the schistosomiasis control knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP), and influencing factors of behaviors among residents in Jiangsu Province, so as to provide the evidence for making effective health education and health promotion models.

Methods: The probability proportionate to size sampling (PPS) and multi-stage sampling methods were adopted to sample the research objects. A questionnaire survey of schistosomiasis control KAP was conducted in the residents of 16 to 69 years old in schistosomiasis endemic areas of Jiangsu Province, and the results were statistically analyzed.

The paper describes a study on the green emission of a Tb-doped Mg-Al layered double hydroxide (Tb-LDH) response to L-lysine (Lys). Fluorescent study was found that the Tb-LDH exhibited strong green emission due to (5)D4-(7)FJ (J = 5, 6) transition of Tb(3+), and the green emission almost quenched while the Tb-LDH was exposed to 0.01, 0.

Background: Myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) have recently been implicated in the pathogenesis of asthma, but their regulation in patients with aspirin-intolerant asthma (AIA) remains unclear.

Objective: We sought to characterize MDSC accumulation and pathogenic functions in allergic airway inflammation mediated by COX-1 deficiency or aspirin treatment in mice.

Methods: Allergic airway inflammation was induced in mice by means of ovalbumin challenge.

Objective: To observe the development and breeding of Anopheles anthropophagus in Jiangsu Province under different temperatures, so as to provide theoretical evidence for malaria epidemiology research and vector control.

Methods: Anopheles anthropophagus was maintained under different temperatures of 16, 19, 22, 25, 28 and 31 degrees C in cultivator, and the development of egg stage, larva, pupal stage and reproductive and vegetative cycle were observed. Then the time of entire developmental cycle of Anopheles anthropophagus at different temperatures was calculated.
