Background: Alemtuzumab is administered intravenously (IV) for relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), with limited studies of subcutaneous (SC) treatment.

Objectives: We sought to evaluate the pharmacodynamics (PD), pharmacokinetics (PK), and safety profile of SC-administered alemtuzumab in people with progressive multiple sclerosis (PMS).

Design: SCALA was a phase I, open-label, randomized, parallel-group study with two 12-month periods and a safety monitoring phase to 60 months.

Introduction: Heatstroke is a serious clinical condition caused by exposure to high temperature and high humidity environment, which leads to a rapid increase of the core temperature of the body to more than 40°C, accompanied by skin burning, consciousness disorders and other organ system damage. This study aims to analyze the effect of meteorological factors on the incidence of heatstroke using machine learning, and to construct a heatstroke forecasting model to provide reference for heatstroke prevention.

Methods: The data of heatstroke incidence and meteorological factors in a city in South China from May to September 2014-2019 were analyzed in this study.

Here we report a diachronic evolvement from tetra-icosahedral AuAg(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CR) to quasi-hcp (hexagonal close-packed) AuAg(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CR) a one-step reduction, in which the size/structure conversion of the two clusters is not a typical Oswald growth process, but involves interface shrinking followed by core rearrangement and surface polymerization. AuAg(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CR) has an aesthetic AuAg kernel that is composed of four interpenetrating AuAg icosahedra, while AuAg(C[triple bond, length as m-dash]CR) has a twisted Au core capped by a AuAg shell that are stacked in a layer-by-layer manner with a quasi-hcp pattern. The discovery of the two clusters not only provides further evidence for icosahedral clusters with longer excited-state lifetime compared to hcp-like clusters, but also discloses a double increase in catalytic reactivity for electrocatalytic oxidation of ethanol over quasi-hcp clusters in comparison with icosahedral clusters.

Introduction: Many patients with primary hypercholesterolemia do not achieve their plasma low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) goals with statin alone under a recommended dose of statin (e.g., 10 mg rosuvastatin) in China.

Introduction: This study evaluated the bioequivalence of ezetimibe/rosuvastatin fixed dose combination compared to the concomitant administration of individual formulations (ezetimibe and rosuvastatin) in Chinese healthy subjects under fasting conditions.

Methods: This was a phase I, randomized, open-label, two-treatment, two-period, two-sequence, crossover study conducted in healthy Chinese participants under fasting conditions. C, AUC, and AUC from test and individual reference formulations were evaluated to assess bioequivalence.

Discovering efficient catalysts is highly desired in expanding the application of halogen-bonding catalysis. We herein report our findings on applying triaminocyclopropenium (TAC) iodides as highly potent catalysts for halogen-bonding catalyzed living radical polymerization. Promoted by the unique effect of ion-pair strain between the TAC cation and the iodide anion, the TAC iodides showed high catalytic efficiency in the halogen-bonding catalysis toward radical generation, and surpassed the previously reported organic iodide catalysts.

The excited state dynamics of small-sized metal nanoclusters are dependent on their crystal structures, while the effect of the charge state remains largely unknown. Here, we report the influence of single electrons on the excited-state dynamics of non-superatom Au clusters by comparing the transient absorption isotropy and anisotropy dynamics of two rod-shaped Au nanoclusters protected by organic ligands. Two decay lifetimes (0.

Rising tropospheric ozone concentrations in Asia affect the yield and quality of rice. This study investigated ozone-induced changes in rice grain quality in contrasting rice genotypes, and explored the associated physiological processes during the reproductive growth phase. The ozone sensitive variety Nipponbare and a breeding line (L81) containing two tolerance QTLs in Nipponbare background were exposed to 100 ppb ozone (8 h per day) or control conditions throughout their growth.

Transcutaneous energy transfer (TET) enables the transfer of power across the skin without direct electrical connection. It is a mechanism for powering implantable devices for the lifetime of a patient. For maximum power transfer, it is essential that TET systems be resonant on both the primary and secondary sides, which requires considerable design effort.

Transcutaneous energy transfer (TET) systems use magnetic fields to transfer power across the skin without direct electrical connectivity. This offers the prospect of lifetime operation and overcomes risk of infection associated with wires passing through the skin. Previous attempts at this technology have not proved suitable due to poor efficiency, large size, or tissue damage.
