Background: Neocinnamomum plants are considered a promising feedstock for biodiesel in China, due to the richness in long-chain fatty acids (LCFAs) found in their seeds. However, the mitochondrial genome (mitogenome) of this genus has not yet been systematically described, and the exploration of species relationships within this genus using mitogenome sequences is also an uncharted territory. This has hindered our understanding of mitogenome diversity and the evolutionary relationships within Neocinnamomum.

Catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) induced by rapid bacterial colonization and biofilm formation on urinary catheters is a key issue that urgently needs to be addressed. To prevent CAUTI, many contact-killing, non-leaching coatings have been developed for the surfaces of silicone catheters. However, due to the chemical inertness of the silicone substrate, most current coatings lack adhesion and are unstable under external forces.

The main purpose of multimodal medical image fusion is to aggregate the significant information from different modalities and obtain an informative image, which provides comprehensive content and may help to boost other image processing tasks. Many existing methods based on deep learning neglect the extraction and retention of multi-scale features of medical images and the construction of long-distance relationships between depth feature blocks. Therefore, a robust multimodal medical image fusion network via the multi-receptive-field and multi-scale feature (MFNet) is proposed to achieve the purpose of preserving detailed textures and highlighting the structural characteristics.

Respiratory infections are a major public health concern caused by pathogens that colonize and invade the respiratory mucosal surface. Nasal vaccines have the advantage of providing protection at the primary site of pathogen infection, as they induce higher levels of mucosal secretory IgA antibodies and antigen-specific T and B cell responses. Adjuvants are crucial components of vaccine formulation that enhance the immunogenicity of the antigen to confer long-term and effective protection.
