Transition metal sulfides (TMSs) have significant potential in energy storage applications due to their high theoretical capacity and diverse reaction mechanisms. However, performance limitations in supercapacitors arise from various intrinsic defects, including low active material utilization and poor cycling stability caused by unstable electrical conductivity. To address these issues, this paper incorporates selenium atoms into sulfides, aiming to leverage selenium's high conductivity to enhance the electroactivity of transition metal sulfides.

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have found wide applications in the field of supercapacitors due to their highly controllable porous structure, big specific surface area, and abundant chemical functional groups. MOF-on-MOF hybrids not only enhance the composition of MOFs (such as ligands and/or metal centers) but also provide greater structural diversity. By utilizing MOFs as precursors for preparing sulfides, the unique characteristics and inherent structure of MOFs are preserved but their conductivity and capacitance are enhanced.

Article Synopsis
  • Rising water pollution from toxic metals like Al and Hg poses serious risks to human health and the environment, highlighting the need for efficient detection methods.
  • A novel dual-functional fluorescent sensor (CDs@ZIF-90) was created by combining carbon dots with a special framework, demonstrating excellent stability and sensitivity in detecting these metal ions in water.
  • The sensor enables rapid and convenient testing for Al and Hg, offering a promising solution for monitoring water quality to enhance public health and safeguard the ecological environment.

In this study, a rare-earth hybrid luminescent material (lanthanide@COF) was constructed for the detection of a biomarker for anthrax (dipicolinic acid, DPA). JCU-505-COOH was prepared by the hydrolysis of the cyano group in JCU-505 a post-synthetic modification strategy, then the carboxyl groups in JCU-505-COOH coordinated with Tb ions, similar to pincer vising nut. The prepared Tb@JCU-505-COOH exhibited a turn-on response toward DPA, which allowed the lanthanide@COF to serve as a fluorescence sensor with excellent selectivity and high sensitivity (binding constant = 3.

Egg-white peptides (EWP, <1 kDa) have been shown to possess various bioactive properties. However, poor emulsification of EWP limits its application in functional foods. In this study, EWP aggregation induced by proanthocyanidins (PC) contributed to the improvement of emulsion properties.

Objective: This study attempted to explore the value of combining serum hepatic fibrosis-related markers and ultrasound parameters together on diagnosis of hepatic fibrosis.

Methods: Six serum markers and 8 ultrasound parameters were measured from 100 patients with chronic hepatitis B or cirrhosis. The results of the serum hepatic fibrosis-related markers and ultrasound in disease group were analyzed and compared with the findings of hepatic pathology.
