Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) has shown potential in modulating cortical activity and treating depression. Despite its promise, variability in electrode montage configurations and electric field strength across studies has resulted in inconsistent outcomes. Traditional meta-analytic methods assessing the effect of tDCS in depression typically do not compare tDCS montage and the anatomical distribution of electric field, which is a major source of inter-experimental variability.

Background: Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) of the primary motor cortex (M1) at high frequency (HF) is an effective treatment of neuropathic pain. The classical HF-rTMS protocol (CHF-rTMS) includes a daily session for one week as an induction phase of treatment followed by more spaced sessions. Another type of protocol without an induction phase and based solely on spaced sessions of HF-rTMS (SHF-rTMS) has also been shown to produce neuropathic pain relief.

Neurocysticercosis is a condition characterized by the presence of Taenia solium (larval stage: Cysticercus cellulosae) in the brain and is classified as a tropical disease. Although it was previously uncommon in Europe, the number of cases has been increasing over the past decade. In this report, we present a case of a patient who was admitted with symptoms of raised intracranial pressure and biventricular hydrocephalus, without evidence of infection.

The authors report a rare case of most likely radiation-induced glioma (RIG) with epithelioid features and the presence of molecular features consistent with RIG. This occurred 70 years after craniofacial brachytherapy. Such a late development of radiation-induced glioblastoma (RIGBM) and the advanced age of presentation for an epithelioid glioblastoma are both unique in the literature.

Maximum safe resection of infiltrative brain tumors in eloquent area is the primary objective in surgical neuro-oncology. This goal can be achieved with direct electrical stimulation (DES) to perform a functional mapping of the brain in patients awake intraoperatively. The fornix is a white matter bundle located in the mesial aspect of the cerebral hemispheres, which connects various nodes of a limbic circuitry and is believed to play a key role in cognition and episodic memory recall.
