Article Synopsis
  • Sepsis-induced myocardial injury (SIMI) is crucial in severe sepsis and septic shock, with METTL14 playing a key role in m6A RNA modification related to cardiac cell injury.
  • LPS treatment leads to reduced cell viability and increased apoptosis and oxidative stress in human cardiomyocyte cells, with METTL14 and TRPM7 being upregulated.
  • METTL14 enhances TRPM7 mRNA stability through m6A methylation; knockdown of METTL14 mitigates LPS-induced cardiac damage, suggesting a potential treatment target for septic cardiomyopathy.

The purpose of this experiment is to find out the function of Vitamin D (VD) in airway inflammation in asthmatic guinea pigs by regulating mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR)-mediated autophagy. A total of 40 male guinea pigs were randomly assigned into the Con group, the ovalbumin (OVA)-sensitized group, the VD group, the VD + dimethyl sulfoxide group, and the VD + rapamycin (mTOR inhibitor) group. Then, serum from all groups was harvested for the measurement of immunoglobulin E (IgE), interleukin (IL)-4, and IL-5 levels.
