Glycated Hemoglobin is Independently Associated with Albuminuria in Young Nondiabetic People with Obesity: A Cross-Sectional Study.

BACKGROUND The aim of this study was to explore the association between glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level and albuminuria in young nondiabetic people with obesity. MATERIAL AND METHODS A total of 537 young nondiabetic people with obesity were enrolled in this cross-sectional study, which was approved by the Rui-jin Hospital Ethics Committee. Albuminuria was defined as a urinary albumin-to-creatinine ratio (ACR) ≥30 mg/g.

Here we present a nuclear-targeted siRNA delivery system that can induce long-term gene silencing in cancer cells. The effectiveness and safety of same-day versus next-day administration of long-acting granulocyte colony-stimulating factors for the prophylaxis of chemotherapy-induced neutropenia: a systematic review.

Purpose: Granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSF) are commonly used in clinical practice to prevent febrile neutropenia (FN). US and EU prescribing information and treatment guidelines from the NCCN, ASCO, and EORTC specify that pegfilgrastim, a long-acting (LA) G-CSF, should be administered at least 24 h after myelosuppressive chemotherapy. Nevertheless, many patients receive LA G-CSFs on the same day as chemotherapy.

Solitary ground-glass opacity nodules of stage IA pulmonary adenocarcinoma: combination of 18F-FDG PET/CT and high-resolution computed tomography features to predict invasive adenocarcinoma.

To investigate the performance of combined 18F-FDG Positron Emission Tomography/Computed Tomography with high-resolution CT for differentiating invasive adenocarcinoma from adenocarcinoma in situ (pre-invasive lesion) or minimally invasive adenocarcinoma in stage IA lung cancer patients with solitary ground-glass opacity nodules. We demonstrate a novel DNAzymes-based nanocomposite that can simultaneously silence three types of genes in living cells and in vivo. The synergetic strategy for silencing three different genes can significantly enhance the knockdown efficacy and effectively inhibit the cancer cells' progression.

Apoferritin caged gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) were assembled into flower-like structures by precise base pairing of the attached DNA molecules. Geniposide is an iridoid glycosides purified from the fruit of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis, which is known to have antiinflammatory, anti-oxidative and anti-tumor activities. The present study aimed to investigate the effects of geniposide on experimental rat colitis and to reveal the related mechanisms. Experimental rat colitis was induced by rectal administration of a TNBS solution.

Objective: Thymic neuroendocrine tumor is the second-most prevalent cause of ectopic adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) syndrome (EAS), which is a rare disease characterized by ectopic ACTH oversecretion from nonpituitary tumors. However, the genetic abnormalities of thymic neuroendocrine tumors with EAS remain largely unknown. We aim to elucidate the genetic abnormalities and identify the somatic mutations of potential tumor-related genes of thymic neuroendocrine tumors with EAS by whole exome sequencing.

A brain ischemia rat model was established by middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) for 2h and reperfusion for 4h to investigate the underlying mechanism of the neuroprotection action of clonidine, a classical alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, on cerebral ischemia. Clonidine and yohimbine were intraperitoneally given to the rats each day for a week before ischemia. Neurological deficits evaluations were carried out at 6h after operation.
