Objective: To observe the effect of ambulatory labor analgesia on fetal oxygen saturation during labor.
Methods: Sixty parturients with uncomplicated term pregnancies were equally divided, according to their personal preference, into ambulatory analgesia group receiving combined spinal-epidural labor analgesia and control group without analgesia administration. All the parturients with ambulatory labor analgesia received sufentanil and ropivacaine administration.
In animals, the tetraspanins are a large superfamily of membrane proteins that play important roles in organizing various cell-cell and matrix-cell interactions and signal pathways based on such interactions. However, their origin and evolution largely remain elusive and most of the family's members are functionally unknown or less known due to difficulties of study, such as functional redundancy. In this study, we rebuilt the family's phylogeny with sequences retrieved from online databases and our cDNA library of amphioxus.

Objective: To investigate intraoperative and postoperative high-risk factors for surgical site infection after cesarean section.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed cesarean section cases in terms of emergency operation, anesthesia methods, operating time, blood loss, hospital stay, surgical skills of the surgeon, and postoperative nursing care to identify the high risk-factors of surgical site infection during and after the operation. A retrospective case-controlled study of all the parturients with postoperative surgical site infection was conducted.
A new Schiff base copper(II) complex, Cu(o-VANAHE)(2) (o-VANAHE = 2-(o-vanillinamino)-1-hydroxyethane), has been synthesized and characterized. Single crystal X-ray diffraction results suggest that this complex structure belongs to triclinic crystal system, space group P1 with the following crystallographic parameters: a = 8.819(4) angstroms, b = 10.

Objective: To explore the association between placental premature aging observed ultrasonographically and the pregnancy outcome.
Method: The perinatal outcome of 30 pregnant women with grade III placenta observed ultrasonographically before 37 weeks of gestation were analyzed retrospectively, with 154 pregnant women with grade III placenta at full term (>37 weeks) selected at random to serve as the control.
Result: The gestational age at delivery (37.
In seeking evidence of the existence of adaptive immune system (AIS) in ancient chordate, cDNA clones of six libraries from a protochordate, the Chinese amphioxus, were sequenced. Although the key molecules such as TCR, MHC, Ig, and RAG in AIS have not been identified from our database, we demonstrated in this study the extensive molecular evidence for the presence of genes homologous to many genes that are involved in AIS directly or indirectly, including some of which may represent the putative precursors of vertebrate AIS-related genes. The comparative analyses of these genes in different model organisms revealed the different fates of these genes during evolution.

Methods: A total of 107 women diagnosed with FGR were randomized into three groups. Group 1 (standard heparin group, n = 37) received 50 - 75 mg standard heparin added to 500 ml 5% glucose sodium chloride, infused intravenously in 6 - 8 hours.

Objective: To study change of serum endothelin (ET) and in serum endothelin and in pregnant rabbit with acute pulmonary embolism.
Methods: In 17 pregnant rabbits, autologous blood clots were administered into the right atrium via the femoral vein to establish the animal models of acute pulmonary embolism, and another 10 pregnant rabbits received injection with saline to serve as the control group. Serum levels of ET and CGRP were measured before, 0, 2, 4, 6 and 8 h after the injection.

Objective: To investigate the effect of heparin on umbilical blood flow in pregnant women with fetal growth retardation (FGR).
Methods: A total of 103 FGR women were randomized into control group (n=37), standard heparin group (n=35) and low-molecular-weight heparin group (n=31). Low-molecular-weight dextran was given in the control group, and the other two groups received agents for intervention as indicated.

Objective: To explore the changes of the hemorrheology coagulation and fibrinolytic system in patients with pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH).
Methods: To examine the platelet alphagranule membrane protein (GMP-140), Von-Willebrand factor (vWF), antithrombin III activity (AT-III), plasminogen activity (PLG), the activity of tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI) in 30 non-pregnancy women, 30 normal late pregnancy women and 50 pregnancy induced hypertension women.
Results: In PIH group vWF [(156 +/- 23)%], GMP-140 [(23.

Objective: To study the changes in the variables in patients with gynecological malignancies after operation.
Method: Platelet alphagranule membrane protein (GMP-140), von Willebrand Factor (vWF), antithrombin III activity (AT-III), protein C-dependent partial thromboplastin activation time, plasminogen activity (PLG), the activity of tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) and plasminogen activator inhibitor (PAI), D-Dimer were examined in 20 normal non-pregnant women and 38 patients after operation with gynecological malignancies.
Results: vWF, GMP-140, PLG, D-Dimer, and PAI of patients with malignancies before operation were obviously higher than those of the healthy women (P<0.
Objective: To study the relationship of the pathological changes with the expression of vascular cell adhesion molecule-1(VCAM-1) in the placenta of patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH) that is complicated by intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR).
Methods: Tissue specimens of the placenta were respectively collected from 30 patients with PIH complicated by IUGR, 28 patients with IUGR, 25 patients with PIH and 30 normal women after delivery. After HE and PAS staining, the tissue sections were observed microscopically to detect morphological changes in the placenta.

Objective: To establish intrauterine growth retardation (IUGR) models in rats for study of the etiology, pathology and therapy of this disease.
Method: Partial ligation of the medial segment of the uterine artery and vein was performed in 10 Sprague-Dawley rats with pregnancy (17 d) to establish IUGR models, and another 9 rats with pregnancy of the same length which did not receive the operation were used as control. On day 21 of pregnancy, the fetuses and placentas in both groups were surgically taken and weighted, and the incidence of IUGR and mortality in the fetus were observed.

Methods: Immunohistochemical method were used to detect the expression of HO-1 in idiopathic IUGR patients (IUGR group), patients with pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH) complicated by IUGR (PIH+IUGR group) and normal pregnant women (control group) with specific HO antibody. Quantitative analysis was conducted to determine the quantity of HO.
