Context: Different fat depots have connected to cardiovascular health.
Objective: We assessed the associations of abdominal magnetic resonance-quantified visceral adipose tissue (VAT) and liver fat (proton density fat fraction, PDFF) with cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR)-measured cardiac structure and function, and considered potential mechanism.
Methods: Our study encompassed 10,920 participants from the UK Biobank.
Background: Laparoscopic spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy (LSPDP) is a widely adopted surgical approach for benign and low-grade malignant neoplasms of the distal pancreas. The Kimura and Warshaw techniques represent two principal strategies, yet it still needs to be determined which one is superior. Our investigation aimed to evaluate the clinical outcomes associated with each technique.

In addition, the alternative FRS (a-FRS) and updated alternative FRS (ua-FRS) have been developed. This study performed external validation and comparison of these 3 models in patients who underwent laparoscopic pancreaticoduodenectomy (LPD) with Bing's pancreaticojejunostomy.

Hence, we conducted multiple mediation analyses in the UK Biobank study to evaluate this association. Using multiple Cox models, we found lower renal function (estimated glomerular filtration rate based on cystatin C, eGFR-cysC) was independently related to increased risks of various cardiovascular events and mortalities.
