Primary caregivers of children with type 1 diabetes mellitus (T1DM) are prone to negative emotions. This study explored the anxiety status of the caregivers and analyzed the related factors. In this prospective study, 245 primary caregivers of T1DM children who were reexamined in the outpatient clinic of Children's Hospital affiliated to Zhengzhou University between April 2020 and Sep 2022 were surveyed with a questionnaire and the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAMA).
