Background: The benefits of healthy lifestyles are well recognized. However, the extent to which improving unhealthy lifestyles reduces cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk needs to be discussed. We evaluated the impact of lifestyle improvement on CVD incidence using data from the China-PAR project (Prediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk in China).

The preparation of porous three-dimensional nanostructures as efficient electrocatalysts has become important work. Here, we developed a novel three-dimensional (3D) nanostructure of NiFe(OH) nanoparticles/nickel foam with a high active area by a simple electroplating method and a subsequent treatment with ferric ion solution.

Methods: A population-based cohort of 38,913 Chinese participants without hypertension at baseline were included in the current study.
Objectives: Moderate to vigorous physical activity is recommended to prevent hypertension according to the current guidelines. However, the degree to which the total physical activity (TPA) and its changes benefit normotensives and hypertensives is uncertain. We aimed to examine the effects of TPA and its changes on the incidence, progression, and remission of hypertension in the large-scale prospective cohorts.

A total of 8,922 primary metastatic breast cancer patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database were analyzed in the current study. Primary outcome variables included breast cancer-specific survival (BCSS) and overall survival (OS).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was performed on the medical data of 73 children with bacterial infectious diarrhea (bacteria group) and 68 children with viral infectious diarrhea (virus group) who were treated from February 2018 to May 2019. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to analyze the diagnostic efficacy of serum PCT and STREM-1 for bacterial infectious diarrhea and viral infectious diarrhea.
Background: The association of milk intake with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and cause-specific mortality remained controversial and evidence among the Chinese population was limited. We aimed to study the relationship between milk intake and CVDs among general Chinese adults.
Methods: A total of 104,957 participants received questionnaire survey.
Background: In China, lack of evidence remains a significant challenge for the national initiative to promote physical activity (PA). We aimed to quantify the beneficial effects of meeting or maintaining the recommended PA level [150 minutes per week (min/wk) of moderate PA or 75 min/wk of vigorous PA or an equivalent combination] on incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) among Chinese population.
Methods: We included 100,560 participants without history of CVD from three cohorts in the Prediction for Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk in China (China-PAR) project.
Background: To evaluate the significance and benefit of radiotherapy (RT) in young early-stage breast cancer patients according to different molecular subtypes.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study utilizing the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database with known hormone receptor (HoR) and human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status. Female patients aged 18-45, received RT treatment, and diagnosed with stage T1-3, N0-3, M0 primary breast cancer between 2010 and 2013 were identified.
TMEM126A is a mitochondrial transmembrane protein, and its functions in breast cancer progression remain unclear. In this study, via the iTRAQ assay using primary and metastatic breast cancer cell models, we found that TMEM126A expression decreased in metastatic cells. We further confirmed that low TMEM126A expression correlated with tumor progression and poor prognosis in patients.

Objectives: This study was aimed to investigate the prevalence of active and passive tobacco smoking among Beijing residents in 2011.
Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted, using a stratified multistage cluster random sampling method to select a representative sample of 20,242, among Beijing residents aged 18-79 years. Active and passive tobacco smoking information was collected by a standardized and validated questionnaire in a face-to-face interview.
Objective: This study aims to determine the distribution of observed atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD) incidence in contemporary cohorts in China, and to identify cut-off points for ASCVD risk classification based on traditional criteria and new equations developed by Prediction for ASCVD Risk in China (China-PAR).
Methods: The study populations included cohorts in the China-PAR project, with 34,757 participants eligible for the current analysis. Traditional risk stratification was assessed by using Chinese guidelines on prevention of CVD and hypertension, and 5 risk groups were classified based on these guidelines after slight modification for available risk factors.
Oxidative stress and apoptosis are the most important pathologic features of ischemic heart disease. Recent research has indicated that microRNAs (miRs) play an essential role in apoptosis. However, whether miRs might regulate B cell lymphoma-2 (Bcl-2) protein in apoptosis during ischemic heart disease is still unclear.

Methods: One hundred and eighty patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) treated with clopidogrel and aspirin were included and platelet function was assessed by TEG. Five selected P2RY12 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; rs6798347, rs6787801, rs6801273, rs6785930, and rs2046934), which cover the common variations in the P2RY12 gene and its regulatory regions, and three CYP2C19 SNPs (2,3,17) were genotyped and possible haplotypes were analyzed.
Insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) is an important regulator of cardiomyocyte homeostasis and cardiac structure, and the prosurvival and antiapoptotic effects of IGF-1 have been investigated. However, the effect of microRNA-320 (miR-320) in ischemia and reperfusion (I/R) by targeting IGF-1 is rarely discussed. We investigated the role of miR-320 in I/R injury.
