Identification of lesion demarcation during thoracoscopic anatomical lesion resection is fundamental for treating children with congenital lung malformation. Existing lesion demarcations do not always meet the needs of clinical practice. This study aimed to explore the safety and efficacy of near-infrared fluorescence imaging with nebulized inhalation of indocyanine green for thoracoscopic anatomical lesion resection in children with congenital lung malformation.

A multicenter retrospective study was performed with 632 thoracoscopic lobectomy CLM patients in four hospitals between 2014.1 and 2023.

However, to conduct TALR is technically demanding for a beginner. To make the procedure easier to understand, the details for TALR are demonstrated in this report.

However, coronavirus disease-2019 (COVID-19) severity varied highly between unvaccinated, partially vaccinated, and fully vaccinated individuals, for unknown reasons.

There is a lack of experience in the clinical features and surgical treatment of unilateral multilobar CLM. Therefore, this study aims to summarize the clinical characteristics and evaluate the safety and feasibility of thoracoscopic lung sparing resection in the treatment of unilateral multilobar CLM.

However, it is still unclear whether multiple heavy metals could affect the distribution of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), and how metals affect ARGs. To understand ARGs' distribution in heavy metal-polluted soils, we chose soils contaminated by different types and contents of heavy metals to determine the ARGs' number and abundance through high-throughput quantitative real-time PCR (HT-qPCR) in this study.

Here, we longitudinally analyzed SARS-CoV-2-specific immune effectors during the acute infection and convalescent phases of 165 patients with COVID-19 categorized by severity. We found that early and robust SARS-CoV-2-specific CD4 and CD8 T cell responses ameliorate disease progression and shortened hospital stay, while delayed and attenuated virus-specific CD8 T cell responses are prominent severe COVID-19 features.

The current treatment options for PDAC are limited, and a better understanding of the underlying mechanisms responsible for PDAC progression is required to identify improved therapeutic strategies. In this study, we identified FBXO32 as an oncogenic driver in PDAC.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFFerroptosis, a novel form of iron-dependent non-apoptotic cell death, plays an active role in the pathogenesis of diverse diseases, including cancer. However, the mechanism through which ferroptosis is regulated in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains unclear. Here, our study, via combining bioinformatic analysis with experimental validation, showed that ferroptosis is inhibited in PDAC.

However, the regulatory connection between NF-κB and NUAK2, as well as NUAK2's role in pancreatic cancer, remains unclear. In this study, we observed that inhibiting NUAK2 impeded the proliferation, migration, and invasion of pancreatic cancer cells while triggering apoptosis.

Protein synthesis (or mRNA translation), an essential part of gene expression, is dysregulated in cancer. The emergence of distinct translatomic technologies has revolutionized oncological studies to elucidate translational regulatory mechanisms.

No consensus has been achieved concerning the best policy facing such condition. This study aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of our strategies in treating neonates with CMLM presenting with respiratory distress.

However, the response of many patients remains unsatisfactorily, suspected to be relevant to PD-L1 located in other cellular compartments and antibodies do not have access to the intracellular compartments. Herein, we identify a PD-L1-targeting DNA aptamer (PA9-1) with dual roles, including an antagonist and a delivery agent dependent on PD-L1 internalization.

Methods: Demographic data and intra- and postoperative parameters of the two groups (Abs-o-lock® group and Hem-o-lok® group) were reviewed. In the Abs-o-lock® group, 5-mm absorbable clips were used in thoracoscopic anatomical lung resection on all patients from January 2020 to March 2021.
Objective: Pancreatic cancer (PC) is highly malignant, but the underlying mechanisms of cancer progression remain unclear. PRKRA is involved in cellular stress response, but its role in PC was unknown.
Methods: The expression of PRKRA between normal and tumor tissues were compared, and the prognostic value of PRKRA was evaluated.
Fano resonance from photonic crystal nanobeam cavity (PCNC) is important building block for large-scale photonic integrated circuits (PICs) to enable photonic switches and sensors with superior characteristics. Nevertheless, most state-of-the-art demonstrations rely on electron beam lithography (EBL) and operate in dielectric mode. Hence, we theoretically, numerically and experimentally present the characteristics of Fano resonance from optical interference between the discrete state of air-mode PCNC and the continuum mode of side-coupled line-defect waveguide with partially transmitting element (PTE) using deep ultraviolet (DUV) lithography for the first time.
