Purpose: This meta-analysis was carried out to evaluate the clinical effectiveness of rotator cuff repair surgery in treating rotator cuff tears in individuals with mild glenohumeral osteoarthritis (GHOA).

Methods: A computer-based search was conducted across multiple databases including PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library using the keywords "Shoulder Joints", "Osteoarthrosis", and "rotator cuff". Only studies focusing on patients with GHOA who underwent rotator cuff repair were considered for inclusion.

Background: The objective of this study was to examine the impacts of absolute cuff pressure blood flow restriction (A-BFR) training and incremental cuff pressure blood flow restriction (I-BFR) training, under equal cuff pressures, on body composition and maximal strength among untrained adults. In this study, a novel nitrogen-doped carbon quantum dot/oxidized gum arabic-gelatin-based fluorescent probe (NAH) was prepared using gelatin (GL) and gum arabic (AG) biomolecules. The primary network structure of this hydrogel consisted of polyacrylamide (PAM), while a secondary network structure was constructed between oxidized gum arabic and gelatin through the reaction of the Schiff base, which significantly enhanced the mechanical properties, the stress and strain of NAH reached 266.47 KPa and 2175.

The performance of narrow-bandgap (NBG) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is limited by the severe nonradiative recombination and carrier transport barrier at the electron selective interface. Here, we reveal the importance of the molecular orientation for effective defect passivation and protection for Sn at the perovskite/C interface. We constructed an internally self-anchored dual-passivation (ISADP) layer, where the orientation of PCBM can be significantly enhanced by the interaction between ammonium and carbonyl groups.

The co-occurrence of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and bladder urothelial carcinoma (bUC) is rare, and owing to the lack of a unified treatment plan, the prognosis is poor. The present report describes the case of a 65-year-old male patient with a history of smoking and no history of malignant tumors who presented with hematuria at the Huanghe Sanmenxia Hospital Affiliated to Henan University of Science and Technology (Sanmenxia, China) in July 2021. Urinary system computed tomography urography revealed a right renal tumor, and cystoscopy revealed intravesical lesions.

Bio-inspired fibrillar adhesives have received worldwide attention but their potentials have been limited by a trade-off between adhesion strength and adhesion switchability, and a size scale effect that restricts the fibrils to micro/nanoscales. Here, we report a class of adhesive fibrils that achieve unprecedented adhesion strength (∼2 MPa), switchability (∼2000), and scalability (up to millimeter-scale at the single fibril level), by leveraging the rubber-to-glass (R2G) transition in shape memory polymers (SMPs). Moreover, R2G SMP fibrillar adhesive arrays exhibit a switchability of >1000 (with the aid of controlled buckling) and an adhesion efficiency of 57.

A novel antibacterial film based on arabinoxylan (AX) was prepared by introducing ferulic acid (FA) to AX through a laccase-catalyzed procedure. The ferulic acid-arabinoxylan conjugates (FA-AX conjugates) have been characterized. Results showed that FA was successfully grafted onto the AX chains by covalent linkages, likely through nucleophilic addition between O-Ph in the phenolic hydroxyl group of FA, or through Michael addition via O-quinone intermediates.

By utilizing the cumulative disadvantage model and the social-ecological systems theory, this study explored the effect of childhood family adversity on adulthood depression in the mediating roles of OMWs' social-ecological microsystem and mesosystem and further examined gender differences in these associations.
