Solution stability of factor Xa inhibitors as a function of pH.

The stability of two factor Xa inhibitors (MLN1021 and CT54004) as a function of pH was investigated in order to better characterize the compounds and to locate the optimum pH for a stable formulation that might be used in a first-in-person (FIP) clinical study. The compounds prepared in buffer solutions over a pH range of 1-10 were stored at 60 degrees C, and assayed for pH and purity at different time points. The pH-rate profiles indicated that both compound was quite stable in the middle pH range, and least stable at pH<3 and >8.

[Effects of pregnancy and blood components on solubility of fluoride volatile anesthesia].

Objective: To determine the effect of pregnancy on blood/gas partition coefficient (B/G) of volatile anesthetics and to evaluate the relation between B/G and blood component concentration.

Methods: Blood samples were obtained from four groups of fasting women: 8 nonpregnancies, 8 first-trimester pregnancies, 12 mid-trimester pregnancies, 12 third-trimester pregnancies. B/G of desflurane, isoflurane and halothane in each subject was measured by double equilibration technique.

Textual study of historical and modern scientific studies on chemical constituents and pharmacological actions of medicinal ants were carried out. The records in the ancient literatures conform to modern scientific research. Rational utilization and development were suggested.

[Bionomics and breeding of ant-lion].

Ant-lion is a Chinese crude drug. The natural factors, such as temperature, humidity, illumination, etc, have an obvious influence upon its growth and movement. The temperature fit to its growth ranges from 25-30 degrees C and lighting 14-16 h/d.

Correlation of HBV DNA levels in serum and liver of chronic hepatitis B patients with cirrhosis.

Aim: We sought to evaluate whether serum HBV DNA levels correlates with the liver free HBV DNA levels in chronic hepatitis B.

Methods: Thirty-three consecutive chronic hepatitis B patients with cirrhosis were included in this study. Twenty cases had detectable serum HBV DNA (> 1.
