Introduction And Objective: His bundle pacing (HBP) could replace failed biventricular pacing (BVP) in guidelines (IIa Indication), but the high capture thresholds and backup lead pacing requirements limit its development. We assessed the efficacy and safety of HBP combined with atrioventricular node ablation (AVNA) for atrial fibrillation (AF) and compared with BVP and left bundle branch pacing (LBBP).

Methods: We reviewed PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library databases on left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), New York Heart Association (NYHA) score, QRS duration (QRSd), and pacing threshold.

Despite advances in sequencing technologies, a molecular diagnosis remains elusive in many patients with Mendelian disease. Current short-read clinical sequencing approaches cannot provide chromosomal phase information or epigenetic information without further sample processing, which is not routinely done and can result in an incomplete molecular diagnosis in patients. The ability to provide phased genetic and epigenetic information from a single sequencing run would improve the diagnostic rate of Mendelian conditions.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is defined as the acute onset of diffuse bilateral pulmonary infiltration, leading to PaO/FiO ≤ 300 mmHg without clinical evidence of left atrial hypertension. Acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) involves more severe hypoxemia (PaO/FiO ≤ 200 mmHg). Treatment of ALI and ARDS has received renewed attention as the incidence of ALI caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection has increased.

Background: Studies have found that in healthy individuals without nasal disease, changes in posture cause an increase in nasal resistance, especially in the prone posture. Many patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS) sleep in a prone posture, but no studies have examined the effect of this change in posture on nasal resistance in patients with OSAS. Therefore, we conducted this study to investigate this posture-related physical phenomenon in individuals with OSAS.

Materials with electromechanical coupling are essential for transducers and acoustic devices as reversible converters between mechanical and electrical energy. High electromechanical responses are typically found in materials with strong structural instabilities, conventionally achieved by two strategies-morphotropic phase boundaries and nanoscale structural heterogeneity. Here we demonstrate a different strategy to accomplish ultrahigh electromechanical response by inducing extreme structural instability from competing antiferroelectric and ferroelectric orders.

  • Cellulose nanofiber (CNF) is commonly used in MXene film electrodes to enhance mechanical properties for supercapacitors, but it negatively affects capacitance due to its non-electrochemical activity.
  • The study introduces lignin-containing cellulose fibers (LCNF) as a replacement for CNF, significantly improving the mechanical strength of MXene film electrodes while also enhancing capacitance through the lignin's reversible chemical properties.
  • The resulting supercapacitor exhibits an impressive energy density of 1.8 Wh/g and maintains excellent rate capability, effectively balancing mechanical strength and electrochemical performance.

Wnt signaling is an important target for anabolic therapies in osteoporosis. A sclerostin-neutralizing antibody (Scl-Ab), that blocks the Wnt signaling inhibitor (sclerostin), has been shown to promote bone mass in animal models and clinical studies. However, the cellular mechanisms by which Wnt signaling promotes osteogenesis remain to be further investigated.

Extranodal natural killer/T cell lymphoma (ENKTL) shows a high rate of recurrence after chemoradiotherapy. Drug resistance can be mediated by the cargo of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs). Here, we show that high abundance of the transmembrane glycoprotein CD98hc in tumor cells and serum sEVs was associated with ENKTL progression and drug resistance.

More and more attention has been paid to computer security, and its vulnerabilities urgently need more sensitive solutions. Due to the incomplete data of most vulnerability libraries, it is difficult to obtain pre-permission and post-permission of vulnerabilities, and construct vulnerability exploitation chains, so it cannot to respond to vulnerabilities in time. Therefore, a vulnerability extraction and prediction method based on improved information gain algorithm is proposed.

Despite recent advances in systemic therapy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), the prognosis of hepatitis B virus (HBV)-induced HCC patients remains poor. By screening a sgRNA library targeting human deubiquitinases, we find that ubiquitin-specific peptidase 26 (USP26) deficiency impairs HBV-positive HCC cell proliferation. Genetically engineered murine models with Usp26 knockout confirm that Usp26 drives HCC tumorigenesis.

Chitosan materials are much important in adsorption, separation and water treatment due to their hydrophilicity, biodegradability and easy functionalization. However, they were difficult to form structural materials, which limited its application in engineering. In this paper, a new type of chitosan porous materials was prepared with two-step strategy involving the freezing crosslinking of chitosan with glutaraldehyde to form cryogels, and their subsequent reduction with NaBH to transform CN bonds into CN bonds, resulting in remarkable improvement of mechanical property.

Keloids, characterized by excessive extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition and aberrant fibrous tissue proliferation, present significant therapeutic challenges due to their recalcitrant and recurrent nature. This study explores the efficacy of Carbon Ion Radiotherapy (CIRT) as a novel therapeutic approach for keloids, focusing on its impact on fibroblast proliferation, apoptosis induction, immunogenic cell death (ICD), macrophage polarization, and the TGF-β/SMAD signaling pathway. Utilizing a murine model of keloid formed by subcutaneous injection of zeocin in C57BL/6 mice, we demonstrated that CIRT effectively reduces collagenous fiber synthesis and collagen production in keloid tissues.
