Zn-MnO batteries with two-electron transfer harvest high energy density, high working voltage, inherent safety, and cost-effectiveness. Zn as the dominant charge carriers suffer from sluggish kinetics due to the strong Zn-MnO coulombic interaction, which is also the origin of pestilent MnO lattice deformation and performance degradation. Current studies particularly involve H insertion-dominating chemistry, where the long-term cycle stability remains challenging due to the accumulative Zn insertion and structural collapse.

Here, we identified an additional V6 ORF which embedded within the V4 ORF in the MCLV virion-sense strand. The expression of V6 was confirmed by analyzing the promoter activity of V6 ORF upstream sequences and quantifying the viral DNA accumulation in V6-mutant MCLV-infected tomato plants.

Mitochondria, commonly referred to as "energy factories"of cells, play a crucial role in the function and survival of cardiomyocytes. However, as research on cardiac fibrosis has advanced, mitochondrial dysfunction(including changes in energy metabolism, calcium ion imbalance, increased oxidative stress, and apoptosis)is now recognized as a significant pathophysiological pathway involved in cardiac remodeling and progression, which also negatively affects the function and structure of the heart. In recent years, research focusing on targeting mitochondria has gained significant attention, offering new approaches for treating cardiac fibrosis.

Therefore, a proper model that recapitulates spermatogenesis in vitro has been long sought out for basic and clinical research. Testis organ culture using the gas-liquid interphase method has been shown to support spermatogenesis in mice and rats.

The humic acid (HA) corona is traditionally considered to reduce GNSs toxicity. Here, we evaluate the effect of sorbed HA (GNSs-HA) on the toxicity of GNSs to Gram positive Bacillus tropicus.

The unified stomatal optimization (USO) model provides a mechanistic linkage between stomatal conductance (g) and photosynthesis (A), with its slope parameter (g) inversely related to intrinsic water use efficiency (iWUE), providing a key proxy to characterize the differences in iWUE and stomatal behavior. While many studies have identified multiple environmental factors influencing g, the potential role of evolutionary history in shaping g remains incompletely understood.

However, the regulatory molecular mechanisms underlying RNA virus-activated type I IFN signaling pathway remain incompletely understood. Here, we found that protein arginine methyltransferase 7 (PRMT7) serves as a negative regulator of the type I IFN signaling pathway by interacting with MAVS and catalyzing monomethylation of arginine 232 (R232me1) in MAVS.

The aim of this study is to develop an ion-sensitive gel (ISG) of KET to promote its ocular bioavailability in topical application. The solubility of KET in water was increased by complexation with hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HPβCD), then KET-HPβCD inclusion complex (KET-IC) was fabricated into an ion-sensitive ISG triggered by sodium alginate (SA).

Objective: To investigate the effect and molecular mechanism of isolongifolene (ISO) on the apoptosis of intestinal epithelial cells and 2,4,6-trinitrobenzenesulfonic acid (TNBS)-induced Crohn's disease (CD)-like colitis in mice.
Methods: In the animal experiments, mice were randomly assigned to the wild type (WT) group, TNBS group and TNBS+ISO group, with 8 mice in each group. Colitis models of mice were established in the TNBS group and the TNBS+ISO group by rectal injection of TNBS.
Background: Rotator cuff calcific tendinitis is a common shoulder joint disorder. Nonsurgical treatment methods, including multiple needling and extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT), can effectively treat calcific tendinitis.
Purpose: To evaluate the clinical results and radiological outcomes of treatment with ultrasound-guided needling (UGN) alone versus UGN with high-energy ESWT (UGN-H) or UGN with low-energy ESWT (UGN-L) in patients with calcific tendinitis of the rotator cuff.

N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modifications are modulated by m6A methyltransferases, m6A demethylases, and m6A-binding proteins. The dynamic and reversible patterns of m6A modification control cell fate programming by regulating RNA splicing, translation, and decay. Emerging evidence demonstrates that m6A modification of coding and noncoding RNAs exerts crucial effects that influence the pathogenesis of diabetic microvascular complications that include diabetic cardiomyopathy, diabetic nephropathy, diabetic retinopathy, diabetic neuropathy, and diabetic dermatosis.

Objective: To investigate the expression of serum histone deacetylase 2 (HDAC2) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and its clinical significance.
Methods: The 150 AML patients who received treatment in our hospital from April 2017 to April 2019 were included as AML group, and further divided into survival group (108 cases) and death group (42 cases) according to their survival status. In addition, 100 health individuals undergoing health examination in the same period were included as control group.
Owing to the depletion of renewable energy sources, manufacturing stable, efficient and economical non-noble electrode materials for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) through electrochemical water splitting is a promising avenue. In this work, Ni-Mo alloy films containing different Mo concentrations were synthesized potentiostatic technique, and the mechanism of Ni and Mo co-deposition in an ethylene glycol system (EG) was recorded. The co-deposition mechanism of Mo and Ni in the EG shows that the existence of Ni can facilitate the reduction of Mo, while Mo can impede the reduction of Ni.

Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a synthetic perfluoroalkyl compound, has caused extensive soil contamination over several decades, posing serious health risks to humans through bioaccumulation in plants and subsequent transfer via the food chain. Due to the durability of PFOA in soil and its propensity to migrate and accumulate in plants, phytoremediation has been recognized as an effective remediation method. However, the phytotoxicity of PFOA and the adsorption of PFOA by soil hindered the efficiency of traditional phytoremediation.
