In this study, a controllable mass‒frequency tuning method is presented using the etching of rib structures on a single-crystal PZT membrane. The rib structures were optimized to reduce the membrane mass while maintaining the stiffness; therefore, the center frequency could be increased to improve the low-frequency bandwidth of microphones. Additionally, this methodology could reduce the modulus and improve the sensitivity for the same resonant frequency, which typically indicates the maximum acoustic overload point (AOP).

Cancer cells rely on mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) and the noncanonical tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle. In this paper, we shed light on the vital role played by the noncanonical TCA cycle in a host-side concession to mitochondria, especially in highly energy-demanding malignant tumor cells. Inhibition of ATP-citrate lyase (ACLY), a key enzyme in the noncanonical TCA cycle, induced apoptosis by increasing reactive oxygen species levels and DNA damage while reducing mitochondrial membrane potential.

This study investigates the role of S100A9 in sepsis-associated AKI (SA-AKI) through the lens of pyroptosis, a controlled form of cell death mediated by the gasdermin protein family. Using C57BL/6 mice and S100A9 knockout mice subjected to cecal ligation and puncture (CLP), RNA sequencing and bioinformatics analyses revealed differentially expressed genes (DEGs) related to inflammation and immune responses, with notable upregulation of S100A9. Functional enrichment analyses (GO and KEGG) indicated these DEGs are involved in interferon-beta response, immune processes, and cell adhesion.

Burn-through point (BTP) is a very key factor in maintaining the normal operation of the sintering process, which guarantees the yield and quality of sinter ore. In this study, an electrochemical sensor based on MoS with enhanced electrochemical signals from electrochemically activated carbon cloth (EACC) electrodes and cross-linked o-aminothiophenol functionalized AuNPs (o-ATP@AuNPs) was developed for the detection of the unsaturated vegetable oil antioxidant tert-butylhydroquinone (TBHQ). In this approach, carbon cloth is activated through the implementation of electrochemical methods, thereby effectively increasing its specific surface area. The resulting EACC, serving as an electrode substrate, enables the growth of additional nanomaterials and enhances conductivity.

Somatic delusions occur in various psychiatric disorders and are associated with higher mortality and lower quality of life. In this case report, we present a 68-year-old man with the diagnosis of schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type with associated somatic delusions, and auditory hallucinations. His somatic delusions were alleviated by the 20 ECT treatment with additional clinical improvements in his speech, thought processes, and judgment.
