Multilayer perceptron is composed of massive distributed neural processors interconnected. The nonlinear dynamic components in these processors expand the input data into a linear combination of synapses. However, the nonlinear mapping ability of original multilayer perceptron is limited when processing high complexity information.

This study aims to prepare bamboo-fiber-reinforced cement composites and provide a solution to the issue of poor interfacial adhesion between bamboo fibers and cement matrix. The original bamboo fibers were modified by three moderately low-cost and easy-to-handle treatments including glycerol, aluminate ester, and silane treatments. The performance of the modified bamboo-fiber-reinforced cement composites was evaluated by a series of mechanical and durability tests, including flexural and compressive strength, water absorption, chloride ion penetration, drying shrinkage, freeze-thaw resistance, and carbonization.

Article Synopsis
  • The study examined the effectiveness of breast MRI in assessing tumor size and positive margins in patients who had breast-conserving surgery (BCS) for different breast cancer subtypes.
  • It found that MRI correlated better with actual tumor size compared to ultrasound, especially for triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), while the agreement was lower for HER2-positive tumors.
  • Additionally, HER2-positive patients had a higher rate of positive margins compared to other subtypes, suggesting that imaging may not align well with pathology in this group.

Background: This study aimed to investigate the difference between ultrasonographic findings of normal skin and those of re-epithelialized skin after partial-thickness burns and to evaluate the relationship between these findings and clinical outcomes.

Methods: This study retrospectively analysed the ultrasound images of re-epithelialized skin after partial-thickness burns and contralateral normal skin from January 2016 to December 2016. A total of 155 lesions from 148 patients were analysed with ultrasound images, and healing time was documented.

Purpose: Although sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) can accurately represent the axillary lymph node (ALN) status, the false-negative rate (FNR) of SLNB is the main concern in the patients who receive SLNB alone instead of ALN dissection (ALND).

Materials And Methods: We analyzed 1,886 patientswho underwent ALND after negative results of SLNB,retrospectively. A logistic regression analysis was used to identify risk factors associated with a falsenegative (FN) result.
