3D printing PLA wastes were recovered from a well-known reference grade and from different sources. The use of magnetic nanoparticles as theranostic agents for the detection and treatment of cancer diseases has been extensively analyzed in the last few years. In this work, cubic-shaped cobalt and zinc-doped iron oxide nanoparticles with edge lengths in the range from 28 to 94 nm are proposed as negative contrast agents for magnetic resonance imaging and to generate localized heat by magnetic hyperthermia, obtaining high values of transverse relaxation coefficients and specific adsorption rates. The applied magnetic fields presented suitable characteristics for the potential validation of the results into the clinical practice in all cases.

Granuloma annulare (Gan) and giant cell arteritis (GCA) share common histologic features. In Gan, a disease characterized by the presence of palisading granulomas usually in the dermis, the main alteration is the presence of elastic fiber degeneration and it strongly suggests that the primary target leading to the development of this disorder is the injury to the elastic tissue. On the other hand, in giant cell arteritis (GCA), a vasculitis involving large-and middle-sized blood vessels, the main histologic features are the disruption of the internal elastic lamina and the nonsuppurative granulomatous giant cell infiltrate, which seems to be focused around the disintegrated elastic fibers.

We report a case of a 38-year-old man showing the yellow nail syndrome in association with minimal change nephrotic syndrome. Treatment with prednisone and vitamin E resulted in complete resolution of the nephrotic syndrome and slow improvement of the yellow nails, respectively. Although the rare yellow nail syndrome has been described in association with renal disease, this is the first report of the association of this syndrome with minimal change nephrotic syndrome.

An unusual case of Maffucci's syndrome confined to an extremity with an additional superficial lymphangioma in the same limb is described. The patient, a 47-year-old woman, presented with several painful subcutaneous spindle cell hemangioendotheliomas (SCHs) and multiple lytic bone lesions, some calcified, in the left leg. She has been followed for two years and continues to do well.

We describe a case of infectious mononucleosis-like as a manifestation of carbamazepine-induced anticonvulsant hypersensitivity syndrome. Patch testing to carbamazepine and phenytoin were positive and negative to phenobarbital. Our results suggest a cell mediated type of immune response in the pathogenesis of this syndrome.

Two cases of erythromelanosis follicularis faciei et colli in one family, affecting a brother and sister are described. In these cases erythromelanosis follicularis faciei et colli, a process of unknown aetiology, seems to have a clear hereditary component--autosomal recessive mode of inheritance--a feature which, as far as we know, has not been reported in the literature.
