Background: The randomized, open-label, phase III LYNK-003 study assessed the efficacy of first-line maintenance olaparib, alone or in combination with bevacizumab, versus bevacizumab plus a fluoropyrimidine in participants with unresectable or metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). We present results of the prespecified interim futility analysis.

Methods: Eligible participants were ≥18 years of age with unresectable or mCRC that had not progressed after induction with first-line bevacizumab plus 5-fluorouracil plus oxaliplatin plus leucovorin (FOLFOX) or capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (CAPOX).

However, the information obtained does not always correspond to the clinical situation and therefore may be inadequate to help improve a specific patient experience when through no fault of its design, results in low response rates and inadequate specifics.

Objective: The objective is to investigate patient satisfaction using real-time in-person patient experience survey responses at the end of a neurosurgical clinic visit and review the results from these survey responses and those from national commercial survey responses provided by the hospital for the ability to affect change.

Transoperative Magnetic Resonance Imaging in Awake Glioma Surgery: Experience in a Latin American Tertiary-Level Center.

Objective: Analyze the usefulness, efficacy, and safety of transoperative magnetic resonance imaging (tMRI) in glioma surgery in awake patients.

Methods: Retrospective, single-center, analytical study of a cohort of patients who underwent awake surgery for gliomas by the same surgeon in a third-level Argentine center, in the period between 2012 and 2022. Only patients with pathology-confirmed gliomas, with 6-month follow-up, who had preoperative and postoperative volumetric magnetic resonance imaging, were included in this sample.

Background: Evidence for the efficacy of combined PD-1 and HER2 blockade with chemotherapy on progression-free and overall survival in HER2-positive gastro-oesophageal cancer is scarce. The first interim analysis of the randomised, phase 3 KEYNOTE-811 study showed a superior objective response with pembrolizumab compared with placebo when added to trastuzumab plus fluoropyrimidine and platinum-based chemotherapy. Assessing robustness and generalization of a deep neural network for brain MS lesion segmentation on real-world data.

Objectives: Evaluate the performance of a deep learning (DL)-based model for multiple sclerosis (MS) lesion segmentation and compare it to other DL and non-DL algorithms.

Methods: This ambispective, multicenter study assessed the performance of a DL-based model for MS lesion segmentation and compared it to alternative DL- and non-DL-based methods. Models were tested on internal (n = 20) and external (n = 18) datasets from Latin America, and on an external dataset from Europe (n = 49).

Low prevalence of subclinical synovitis in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) in long-term clinical remission on medication.

Subclinical synovitis is highly prevalent in patients with JIA in clinical remission (CR) with a short duration. The objective was to evaluate its prevalence by ultrasound (US) in patients with JIA in long CR during a one-year follow-up. In this prospective and longitudinal study, we included 76 patients with JIA according to ILAR with CR by the Wallace modified criteria and JADAS27 and compared them with 22 patients with active disease.

Objectives: To describe the perspectives of health practitioners on the barriers, gaps, and opportunities that Venezuelan migrant women experienced to accessing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services during the COVID-19 pandemic and how SRH services were affected in Quito, Ecuador.

Methods: Health practitioners involved in SRH services at nine public health care facilities in three zones of Quito were surveyed. The Minimum Initial Service Package readiness assessment tool survey, available from the Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crisis, was adapted for use and data collection in Ecuador.

First national-scale evaluation of temephos resistance in Aedes aegypti in Peru.

Nivolumab plus chemotherapy demonstrated superior overall survival versus chemotherapy at 12-month follow-up in gastric, gastro-oesophageal junction or oesophageal adenocarcinoma in the randomized, global CheckMate 649 phase 3 trial (programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) combined positive score ≥5 and all randomized patients). Background And Purpose: There is growing evidence supporting the presence of the central vein sign (CVS) in the supratentorial brain as an imaging biomarker for multiple sclerosis (MS) diagnosis. Recently, using optimized susceptibility-weighted angiography (SWAN-venule), we detected CVS in 86% of supratentorial white matter lesions (WMLs) in the clinical setting on images obtained in a 3T MRI scanner. Despite the relevance of the infratentorial compartment, CVS prevalence in infratentorial MS plaques has not been investigated in detail.

The KEYNOTE-811 trial of dual PD-1 and HER2 blockade in HER2-positive gastric cancer.

Human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2, also known as ERBB2) amplification or overexpression occurs in approximately 20% of advanced gastric or gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinomas. More than a decade ago, combination therapy with the anti-HER2 antibody trastuzumab and chemotherapy became the standard first-line treatment for patients with these types of tumours. Although adding the anti-programmed death 1 (PD-1) antibody pembrolizumab to chemotherapy does not significantly improve efficacy in advanced HER2-negative gastric cancer, there are preclinical and clinical rationales for adding pembrolizumab in HER2-positive disease.

Purpose: To evaluate dry eye (DE) and subjective visual display terminal (VDT)-related symptoms in university students who moved their classes online due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: Cross-sectional study of students who were taking online classes. In May 2020, the participants completed a Dry Eye Questionnaire (DEQ-5) and a self-report survey, which included demographics, medical history, information on the use of VDT and presence of VDT-related symptoms.

Spontaneous chronic subdural hematoma due to cerebral cortical artery rupture: First case report and review of pertinent literature.

Introduction: Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is generally attributed to pathological changes in the dural arterial system, which has led to growing utilization of middle meningeal artery (MMA) embolization in CSDH treatment. There are no case reports of CSDH due to cerebral cortical artery perforation.

Method: We report a case of spontaneous CSDH caused by cortical artery rupture that was identified on digital subtraction angiography and could be visualized on computed tomographic angiography (CTA).

High frequency of digital eye strain and dry eye disease in teleworkers during the coronavirus disease (2019) pandemic.

This study aimed to evaluate visual display terminal (VDT)-related digital eye strain (ES) and dry eye disease (DED) symptoms in subjects whose work was changed to teleworking (TW) during the coronavirus pandemic. A digital self-reported survey was conducted on subjects in TW, including demographics, medical history, VDT time and ES-related symptoms before and during the pandemic and DED (dry eye questionnaire 5 [DEQ-5] questionnaire). A total of 1797 questionnaires were analyzed.
