is a Gram-positive pathogen known for its toxin production and spore formation. It is primarily responsible for most cases of antibiotic-associated diarrhea. Bacterial persisters are a small subset of the population that exhibits transient tolerance to bactericidal substances, and they are of significant medical concern due to their association with the emergence of antibiotic resistance and difficult-to-treat chronic or recurrent infections.

We present results of the prespecified interim futility analysis.
Methods: Eligible participants were ≥18 years of age with unresectable or mCRC that had not progressed after induction with first-line bevacizumab plus 5-fluorouracil plus oxaliplatin plus leucovorin (FOLFOX) or capecitabine plus oxaliplatin (CAPOX).
Background: National commercial surveys are used to assess patient satisfaction. However, the information obtained does not always correspond to the clinical situation and therefore may be inadequate to help improve a specific patient experience when through no fault of its design, results in low response rates and inadequate specifics.
Objective: The objective is to investigate patient satisfaction using real-time in-person patient experience survey responses at the end of a neurosurgical clinic visit and review the results from these survey responses and those from national commercial survey responses provided by the hospital for the ability to affect change.
Objective: Analyze the usefulness, efficacy, and safety of transoperative magnetic resonance imaging (tMRI) in glioma surgery in awake patients.
Methods: Retrospective, single-center, analytical study of a cohort of patients who underwent awake surgery for gliomas by the same surgeon in a third-level Argentine center, in the period between 2012 and 2022. Only patients with pathology-confirmed gliomas, with 6-month follow-up, who had preoperative and postoperative volumetric magnetic resonance imaging, were included in this sample.
Background: The benefit of combination neoadjuvant and adjuvant chemotherapy and immune checkpoint inhibition in patients with locally advanced, resectable gastric or gastro-oesophageal adenocarcinoma is unknown. We assess the antitumor activity of neoadjuvant and adjuvant pembrolizumab plus chemotherapy in patients with locally advanced resectable gastric or gastro-oesophageal adenocarcinoma.
Methods: The KEYNOTE-585 study is a multicentre, randomised, placebo-controlled, double-blind, phase 3 study done at 143 medical centres in 24 countries.
Background: Evidence for the efficacy of combined PD-1 and HER2 blockade with chemotherapy on progression-free and overall survival in HER2-positive gastro-oesophageal cancer is scarce. The first interim analysis of the randomised, phase 3 KEYNOTE-811 study showed a superior objective response with pembrolizumab compared with placebo when added to trastuzumab plus fluoropyrimidine and platinum-based chemotherapy. Here, we report results from protocol-specified subsequent interim analyses of KEYNOTE-811.

Methods: This ambispective, multicenter study assessed the performance of a DL-based model for MS lesion segmentation and compared it to alternative DL- and non-DL-based methods. Models were tested on internal (n = 20) and external (n = 18) datasets from Latin America, and on an external dataset from Europe (n = 49).
Subclinical synovitis is highly prevalent in patients with JIA in clinical remission (CR) with a short duration. The objective was to evaluate its prevalence by ultrasound (US) in patients with JIA in long CR during a one-year follow-up. In this prospective and longitudinal study, we included 76 patients with JIA according to ILAR with CR by the Wallace modified criteria and JADAS27 and compared them with 22 patients with active disease.

Here, invasive plants are threatening the remnants of the unique cloud forest and its iconic Darwin's finches. We posit that food web disturbances caused by invasive Rubus niveus (blackberry), have contributed to the rapid decline of the insectivourous green warbler finch (Certhidae olivacea).

The phase III, open-label KEYLYNK-010 study evaluated pembrolizumab plus olaparib versus a next-generation hormonal agent (NHA) for biomarker-unselected, previously treated mCRPC.
Methods: Eligible participants had mCRPC that progressed on or after abiraterone or enzalutamide (but not both) and docetaxel.
Objectives: To describe the perspectives of health practitioners on the barriers, gaps, and opportunities that Venezuelan migrant women experienced to accessing sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services during the COVID-19 pandemic and how SRH services were affected in Quito, Ecuador.
Methods: Health practitioners involved in SRH services at nine public health care facilities in three zones of Quito were surveyed. The Minimum Initial Service Package readiness assessment tool survey, available from the Inter-Agency Working Group on Reproductive Health in Crisis, was adapted for use and data collection in Ecuador.
What Is This Summary About?: This is a summary of the 1-year results of a clinical research study known as CheckMate 649 published in in June 2021. The 2-year results on the participants' health and overall quality of life from the same study are in a second publication in in March 2022. Until recently, chemotherapy was the only first treatment option for people with advanced or metastatic gastroesophageal adenocarcinoma who had not been treated before.

Knowledge of the spatial and temporal trends of this resistance is needed to drive effective monitoring campaigns, which in turn provide data on which vector control decision-making should be based.
Methods: Third-stage larvae (L3) from the F1 and F2 generations of 39 Peruvian field populations of Ae.
Standard first-line chemotherapy results in disease progression and death within one year in most patients with human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative gastro-oesophageal adenocarcinoma. Nivolumab plus chemotherapy demonstrated superior overall survival versus chemotherapy at 12-month follow-up in gastric, gastro-oesophageal junction or oesophageal adenocarcinoma in the randomized, global CheckMate 649 phase 3 trial (programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) combined positive score ≥5 and all randomized patients). On the basis of these results, nivolumab plus chemotherapy is now approved as a first-line treatment for these patients in many countries.

Recently, using optimized susceptibility-weighted angiography (SWAN-venule), we detected CVS in 86% of supratentorial white matter lesions (WMLs) in the clinical setting on images obtained in a 3T MRI scanner. Despite the relevance of the infratentorial compartment, CVS prevalence in infratentorial MS plaques has not been investigated in detail.

More than a decade ago, combination therapy with the anti-HER2 antibody trastuzumab and chemotherapy became the standard first-line treatment for patients with these types of tumours. Although adding the anti-programmed death 1 (PD-1) antibody pembrolizumab to chemotherapy does not significantly improve efficacy in advanced HER2-negative gastric cancer, there are preclinical and clinical rationales for adding pembrolizumab in HER2-positive disease.

Methods: Cross-sectional study of students who were taking online classes. In May 2020, the participants completed a Dry Eye Questionnaire (DEQ-5) and a self-report survey, which included demographics, medical history, information on the use of VDT and presence of VDT-related symptoms.
Introduction: Chronic subdural hematoma (CSDH) is generally attributed to pathological changes in the dural arterial system, which has led to growing utilization of middle meningeal artery (MMA) embolization in CSDH treatment. There are no case reports of CSDH due to cerebral cortical artery perforation.
Method: We report a case of spontaneous CSDH caused by cortical artery rupture that was identified on digital subtraction angiography and could be visualized on computed tomographic angiography (CTA).
Background: First-line chemotherapy for advanced or metastatic human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-negative gastric or gastro-oesophageal junction adenocarcinoma has a median overall survival (OS) of less than 1 year. We aimed to evaluate first-line programmed cell death (PD)-1 inhibitor-based therapies in gastric, gastro-oesophageal junction, and oesophageal adenocarcinoma. We report the first results for nivolumab plus chemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone.
