The quantification of the extent and dynamics of land-use changes is a key metric employed to assess the progress toward several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that form part of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda. In terms of anthropogenic factors threatening the conservation of heritage properties, such a metric aids in the assessment of achievements toward heritage sustainability solving the problem of insufficient data availability. Therefore, in this study, 589 cultural World Heritage List (WHL) properties from 115 countries were analyzed, encompassing globally distributed and statistically significant samples of "monuments and groups of buildings" (73.

Platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) have been attracted worldwide attention due to their versatile application potentials, especially in the catalyst and sensing fields. Herein, a facile synthetic method of triethanolamine (TEOA)-capped PtNPs (TEOA@PtNP) for electrochemiluminescent (ECL) and colorimetric immunoassay of SARS-CoV spike proteins (SARS-CoV S-protein, a target detection model) is developed. Monodisperse PtNPs with an average diameter of 2.

To date, two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) metal organic frameworks (MOFs) have been promising materials for applications in electrocatalysis, separation, and sensing. However, the exploration of a simple method for simultaneous fabrication of 2D/3D MOFs on a surface remains challenging. Herein, a one-step and in situ electrosynthesis strategy for fabrication of 2D Hemin-bridged MOF sheets (Hemin-MOFs) or 2D/3D Zn(II)-MOF hybrid nanocomposites on an electrode is reported.

Many Chinese breeding pigs are repeatedly vaccinated against classical swine fever virus (CSFV) and porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), which cause fatal, highly contagious diseases. To reduce their high frequency vaccination-induced immune stress, we constructed a combined vaccine based on the E2 protein of CSFV and the S1 spike protein subunit of PEDV (named E2-S1). In mice, the E2-S1 vaccine elicited higher neutralizing antibody titers and IgG1/IgG2a ratios against CSFV and PEDV than those induced by individual E2 or S1 vaccines.

Intracranial artery calcification (IAC) is an important risk factor for cerebral infarction and a key biomarker for intracranial artery stenosis. Small dense low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (sd-LDL-c) was independently associated with increased cardiovascular events and coronary calcification. Our study assessed whether sd-LDL-c is an independent factor for IAC in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients.

Intracranial artery calcification (IAC) is an important risk factor for cerebral infarction and a key biomarker for intracranial artery stenosis. Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) has been independently associated with increased cardiovascular events and coronary calcification. Our study assessed whether GGT is an independent factor for IAC in acute ischemic stroke (AIS) patients.

Article Synopsis
  • A new method using calcein as a fluorescent probe allows for the detection of trace DNA amounts.
  • The presence of cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide (CTAB) triggers calcein dimerization, which improves fluorescence when DNA is added at a pH of 6-7.
  • This technique can measure DNA concentrations ranging from 4.0x10(-6) to 8.0x10(-5) g L(-1), with detection limits as low as 2.0x10(-6) g L(-1), and yields good results in synthetic sample analysis.
