Carbon quantum dots (CQDs) have recently received a lot of attention due to their unique physical properties, and their environmentally friendly features such as low toxicity and high biocompatibility. Supercritical fluids, which possess unusual properties such as high solubility, high diffusivity, low viscosity and zero surface tension, are now commonly used particularly in the fields of electronic, chemical and materials science and engineering. Here, we synthesise carbon nano/microparticles in supercritical acetone, in which neither external molecules nor starting materials are dissolved/dispersed.

The multi-attribute method (MAM) has been recognized as an optimal tool for quality control in biotherapeutics. New peak detection (NPD) is one of the functions of MAM for detecting unexpected differences in samples and is an essential feature required for replacing conventional methods with MAM. Not only used for release and stability testing, NPD is also considered valuable for evaluating comparability and identifying product quality attributes in the research phase.

We treated a total of 25 patients with AHA in the past 10 years at Gunma University Hospital. Fifteen patients (60%) underwent rehabilitation during hospitalization.

Here, we employed high-speed atomic force microscopy to observe the growth of Aβ fibrils at the single-molecule level, focusing specifically on their interaction with anti-Aβ antibodies. Our findings show that fibril growth consists of intermittent periods of elongation and pausing, which are dictated by the alternating addition of Aβ monomers to protofilaments.

It contains a complex tumor microenvironment (TME) that includes various stromal cell types. Comprehending cellular communications within the TME is difficult due to a lack of research models that can recapitulate human PDAC-TME.

Intracorporeal anastomosis in right-sided colorectal cancer surgery is expected to shorten operation times, avoid paralytic ileus, and shorten wound lengths; however, there are few reports of intracorporeal anvil fixation for intestinal anastomosis in left-sided colorectal cancer surgery. Herein, we introduce a simple, novel procedure for using robotic purse-string suture (RPSS) in intracorporeal anastomosis with the double-stapling technique in rectal and sigmoid cancer surgery and report short-term outcomes.

However, the pharmaceutical utility of cyclic peptides is limited by their low membrane permeability-an essential indicator of oral bioavailability and intracellular targeting. Current machine learning-based models of cyclic peptide permeability show variable performance owing to the limitations of experimental data.

Recently, external exposure to a chemical of rhododenol (RD) caused chemical leukoderma, an acquired patchy hypopigmentation, in about 20,000 Asian people. The development of a hazard assessment system for accurate determination of leukoderma-inducible chemicals is required for the prevention of such tragedies.

Therefore, we aimed to investigate the effect of elderly age on the perioperative outcomes of minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy, focusing on surgical difficulty.
Methods: This single-center retrospective study included patients who underwent minimally invasive distal pancreatectomy for pancreatic cancer at Kansai Rosai Hospital between September 2012 and December 2023.
Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy reduces the risk of gastric cancer. However, it is unclear whether the severity of risk factors for gastric cancer such as atrophy and intestinal metaplasia are reduced after eradication in the long term. We aimed to study long-term changes in endoscopic risk factors for gastric cancer up to 20 years post-eradication.

A total of 152 patients underwent colonoscopy with UPD. The mean age was 66.

This methodology aims to estimate the binding mode and binding free energy between the drug-targeted protein and candidate chemical compounds, utilizing protein tertiary structure information. Reformulation of this docking as a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problem to obtain solutions via quantum annealing has been attempted.

Senile plaques, a hallmark of AD, are formed by the accumulation of amyloid β protein (Aβ), which starts to aggregate before the onset of the disease. Gangliosides, sialic acid-containing glycosphingolipids, play a key role in the formation of toxic Aβ aggregates.

Eleven years earlier, intrahepatic stones were found in the posterior bile duct, and he did not wish to undergo treatment. Over time, worsening of the intrahepatic stones and dilation of the intrahepatic bile duct were observed.

This retrospective observational study enrolled 204 Japanese women with singleton pregnancies with type 1 diabetes (n = 135) or type 2 diabetes (n = 69). We used multiple regression analyses to examine factors associated with birth weight standard deviation (SD) scores.
