Objective: This study aimed to conduct a coordinate-based meta-analysis (CBMA) to investigate white matter (WM) abnormalities in healthy individuals with overweight or obesity.

Methods: A systematic literature search using Web of Science and PubMed datasets was performed. Original investigations that used diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) to explore fractional anisotropy (FA) differences between healthy overweight/obese individuals and normal weight controls were collected.

Article Synopsis
  • N-acyl-homoserine lactones (AHLs), like N-decanoyl-L-homoserine lactone (C10-HSL), impact plant growth and disease resistance, particularly inhibiting primary root growth in Arabidopsis.
  • Treatment with C10-HSL causes an immediate increase in cytosolic free calcium and reactive oxygen species (ROS), and activates the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MPK6), leading to nitric oxide (NO) production that is linked to root growth inhibition.
  • The study reveals that calcium, ROS, MPK6, and NO are interconnected in the signaling pathway initiated by C10-HSL, with MPK6 being essential for mediating the inhibitory effects on root development.

Background: LINC00941 has been proved to be related to various tumors, but its relationship with laryngocarcinoma remains vague.

Methods: LINC00941 expression in laryngocarcinoma tumor and laryngocarcinoma cells was determined by real time-quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-qPCR). Besides, the five-year survival of laryngocarcinoma patients with different LINC00941 expression was analyzed with Kaplan-Meier survival analysis, and the clinical characteristics of laryngocarcinoma patients were also recorded.

Dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) is a heparin polysaccharide, whose overuse would cause many adverse effects, such as stiff and painful joints and loss of hair. It is crucial to search after a rapid and accurate approach for the determination of DSS in the clinical treatment and diagnosis. Regrettably, there are few literatures about analytical methods for detecting DSS at present.

We have studied the electronic structure and the current-voltage (I-V) characteristics of one-dimensional InSe nanoribbons using the density functional theory combined with the nonequilibrium Green's function method. Nanoribbons having bare or H-passivated edges of types zigzag (Z), Klein (K), and armchair (A) are taken into account. Edge states are found to play an important role in determining their electronic properties.
