Sorghum () is a significant crop serving food, energy, feed, and industrial raw materials, featuring extensive growth adaptability and diverse utility values. Despite the achievements in sorghum breeding in the last decades, conventional breeding methods still confront challenges such as lengthy breeding cycles, low efficiency, and complex genetic backgrounds. With the rapid advancement of molecular biology, genetics, and bioinformatics, molecular breeding has carved new pathways for enhancing sorghum yield and quality.

Exploring the genes controlling those traits is of great significance for understanding the genetic mechanism of sorghum grain development. In this study, we conducted genotyping using Super-GBS technology on a recombinant inbred lines (RILs) population derived from the cross between "BTx623" and "Hongyingzi," consisting of 205 lines.

Yet demographic shifts mean that the government must manage the challenge of fewer children with the needs of an ageing population, while considering the delicate tension between economic growth and environmental sustainability. We mapped the health problems and risks of contemporary school-aged children and adolescents in China against current national health policies.

The chemisorption energy of reactants on a catalyst surface, [Formula: see text], is among the most informative characteristics of understanding and pinpointing the optimal catalyst. The intrinsic complexity of catalyst surfaces and chemisorption reactions presents significant difficulties in identifying the pivotal physical quantities determining [Formula: see text]. In response to this, the study proposes a methodology, the feature deletion experiment, based on Automatic Machine Learning (AutoML) for knowledge extraction from a high-throughput density functional theory (DFT) database.

Recent study showed that liquid-liquid-phase separation (LLPS) of Axin organized the β-catenin destruction complex condensates in a normal cellular state. Mutations inactivating the APC gene are found in approximately 80% of all human colorectal cancer (CRC).

However, the pathological alterations of different types of respiratory failure remained unknown for severe COVID-19 patients. This study aims to evaluate whether there are differences in the performance of various types of respiratory failure in severe COVID-19 patients and investigate the pathological basis for these differences.

However, the precise mechanism by which Gln metabolism reprogramming promotes and coordinates KRAS-mutant CRC progression remains to be fully investigated. Here, we discovered that solute carrier 25 member 21 (SLC25A21) expression was downregulated in KRAS-mutant CRC, and that SLC25A21 downregulation was correlated with poor survival of KRAS-mutant CRC patients.

LncRNA Semaphorin 3B (SEMA3B) antisense RNA 1 () has been found to be dysregulated in a few carcinomas recently. However, its potential function and mechanism in colorectal carcinoma (CRC) have not yet been examined.

However, the exact molecular mechanisms of IGF2BP3 in colorectal cancer (CRC) oncogenesis, progression, and drug resistance remain unclear. This study found that IGF2BP3 was upregulated in CRC tissues.

However, some patients with HCC still experience radio-resistance, cancer recurrence, and distant metastasis following RT. Our previous study has revealed that hexokinase 2 (HK2), a potent oncogene, was overexpressed in radio-resistant HCC cell lines; however, its role in HCC radio-resistance remains elusive.

However, the drug resistant following chemotherapeutic treatment is a significant challenge in the clinical management of CRC. Therefore, understanding the resistance mechanisms and developing new strategies for enhancing the sensitivity are urgently needed to improve CRC outcome.

Causal discovery (also called causal inference) infers causal interactions between objects from observational data. Reported causal discovery methods and single-cell datasets make applying causal discovery to single cells a promising direction.

Sorghum is mainly used for brewing distilled liquors in China. Since grain tannins play an important role in liquor brewing, accurately understanding the relationship between grain color and tannin content can provide basis for selection standards of tannin sorghum.

SIRT3 modulates the peroxisomes-mitochondria interplay by preserving the expression of peroxisomal biogenesis factor 5 (PEX5), thereby improving mitochondrial function. Downregulation of PEX5 was observed in the hearts of Sirt3 mice and angiotensin II-induced cardiac hypertrophic mice, as well as in cardiomyocytes with SIRT3 silencing.

Coal mine drainage generally contains a variety of organic matter and heavy metals due to coal mining activities. Dissolved organic matter (DOM) plays an important role in the physicochemical and biological processes of many aquatic ecosystems.

We aimed to develop a circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) methylation marker model for predicting the relapse risk of stage III CRC patients. Differentially methylated markers identified between 53 normal mucosa samples and 165 CRC tissue samples, as well as between plasma samples from 75 stage I/II (early-stage) CRC patients and 55 stage IV (late-stage) CRC patients, were analyzed using Student's t-tests.
