Purpose: To evaluate the efficacy, durability and safety of intravitreal faricimab versus aflibercept over 48 weeks in patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD) from the LUCERNE China subpopulation.
Design: LUCERNE (NCT03823300) was a phase 3 global, double-masked, active comparator-controlled trial. The China subpopulation comprised patients from mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.
Microbiota-induced production of IL-22 by type 3 innate lymphoid cells (ILC3) plays an important role in maintaining intestinal health. Such IL-22 production is driven, in part, by IL-23 produced by gut myeloid cells that have sensed select microbial-derived mediators. The extent to which ILC3 can directly respond to microbial metabolites via IL-22 production is less clear, in part due to the difficulty of isolating and maintaining sufficient numbers of viable ILC3 ex vivo.

Methods: In 2019, a total of 1721 students were selected from 8 counties(cities) under the jurisdiction of Linxia Prefecture in Gansu Province, with 1 township selected from each county in 5 directions: east, west, south, north, and central. One primary school was randomly selected from each township, and 45 students aged 10-12 were selected from each primary school.
Objective: The study aims to determine the correlation between cerebral small vessel diseases (SVDs) and nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). Additionally, investigate whether NAION raises the risk of an increased total cerebral small vessel disease score (CSVD score) compared to control group without ocular conditions.
Methods: 101 controls without any retinal illness and 61 individuals with NAION were enrolled for this retrospective case control study.

Using spatial transcriptomics, we analyzed 78 postmortem brain sections from 21 ROSMAP participants to map the spatial expression of lncRNAs in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex of aged human brains. To identify the most significant factor that shapes the AD brain signature, we developed a machine learning model (DEcode-tree) to integrate cellular and molecular factors explaining differential gene expression in AD.
