Background: Cancer-associated myositis (CAM) has poor prognosis and causes higher mortality. In general, myositis-specific autoantibodies (MSAs) and myositis-associated autoantibodies (MAAs) have been shown to be useful biomarkers for its diagnosis.
Methods: In the present study, focus was given in assessing the presence, prevalence, and diagnostic values of myositis autoantibodies in Chinese patients diagnosed with CAM.
The H3 subtype of avian influenza virus (AIV) is widespread in avian species and is frequently isolated in surveillance projects; thus, we have developed a more effective diagnostic approach of a monoclonal antibody (mAb)-based sandwich ELISA for the H3 AIV detection. First, we have produced the essential reagent of mAb against AIV H3 strains with the development of an mAb-Mouse immunization with a purified H3-subtype AIV strain and cell fusion to generate hybridoma cells. These cells were screened with hemagglutination inhibition (HI) tests, and optimal cells were subcloned.

In this work, we demonstrated improved performance of GaO solar-blind photodetectors (PDs) by the decoration of Rh metal nanoparticles (NPs). Integrated with Rh NPs on oxidized GaO surface, the resultant device exhibits a reduced dark current of about 10 pA, an obvious enhancement in peak responsivity of 2.

Such transfers may or may not entail intermediate states. The existence of such fleeting states is typically determined by indirect means, while their direct visualization has not been achieved, largely because their concentrations under equilibrium conditions are negligible.

A series of CD markers, including CD3/4/8/20 representing different types and developmental stages of lymphocytes, were used to count the corresponding subpopulations of CSF from clinical and laboratory confirmed cases of anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor AE (NMDAR-AE), herpes simplex virus encephalitis (HSVE), and tuberculous meningitis (TBM). The percentages of lymphocytes observed and the CD4 : CD8 ratios were compared between the three groups.

Methods: Serum samples from 236 patients with SSc, 125 patients with connective tissue diseases (CTD), and 166 healthy controls (HCs), recruited from Peking Union Medical College Hospital and 21 other medical centers in China, were tested for antibodies to RNA polymerase III by means of a line immunoassay (LIA) or an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit.
Results: Anti-RNAP III antibodies were found in 14/236 SSc patients (5.
Microeukaryotes play key roles in the structure and functioning of lotic ecosystems; however, little is known about the relative importance of the processes that drive planktonic microeukaryotic biogeography in rivers, especially the effects of anthropogenic inputs (e.g., wastewater discharge and pesticide and fertilizer use) on the taxonomic and functional diversity of microeukaryotes.

The aim of the current study was to determine the genomic sequence of parvovirus strain GX-Tu-PV-1, which was isolated from a turkey in Guangxi Province, South China. The analysis showed that the genome sequence of GX-Tu-PV-1 was 81.3% to ∼99.

However, the clinical significance and the effect of SETD3 on HCC metastasis remain unclear. In the present study, both the protein and mRNA expression levels of SETD3 were measured in a larger cohort of HCC patients.

Defining TCR repertoires under physiological conditions and in response to a disease or vaccine may lead to a better understanding of adaptive immunity and thus has great biological and clinical value. In the past decade, several high-throughput sequencing-based tools have been developed to assign TCRs to germline genes and to extract complementarity-determining region 3 (CDR3) sequences using different algorithms.

Objective: Understanding the three-dimensional (3D) spatial position and orientation of vessels and tumor(s) is vital in laparoscopic liver resection procedures. Augmented reality (AR) techniques can help surgeons see the patient's internal anatomy in conjunction with laparoscopic video images.
Method: In this paper, we present an AR-assisted navigation system for liver resection based on a rigid stereoscopic laparoscope.
Sepsis-related acute lung injury (ALI) remains a major cause of mortality in critically ill patients and lacks specific therapy. Mitochondrial dysfunction is involved in the progression of septic lung injury. Mitochondrial dynamics, mitophagy, and biogenesis converge to constitute the assiduous quality control of mitochondria (MQC).

Background: Nonthermal irreversible electroporation is a minimally invasive surgery technology that employs high and brief electric fields to ablate undesirable tissues. Nonthermal irreversible electroporation can ablate only cells while preserving intact functional properties of the extracellular structures. Therefore, nonthermal irreversible electroporation can be used to ablate tissues safely near large blood vessels, the esophagus, or nerves.

Here, we studied the roles of ODV-E66 during Helicoverpa armigera nucleopolyhedrovirus (HearNPV) primary infection. ODV-E66 is a late viral protein dispensable for BV production and ODV morphogenesis.

Nevertheless, the function of miR-125a-3p in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) is yet to be explored. Herein, we find that miR-125a-3p is markedly downregulated in PTC tissues, and its level is inversely related to the histological grade of PTC.

Innate immunity plays a significant role in host defense against ARV. Here, we explored the interaction between ARV and the host innate immune system by measuring mRNA expression levels of several genes associated with the MDA5 signaling pathway.
