Introduction: Bamboo rats are rodents that eat bamboo, and their robust capacity for bamboo digestion is directly correlated with their gut flora. Chinese bamboo rat () is a common bamboo rat in Chinese central and southern regions. As a single-stomach mammal, bamboo rats are a famous specificity bamboo-eating animal and their intestinal microbial composition may also play a key role in the digestion of cellulose and lignin.

In this study, PKC-ɑ was obtained from Epinephelus coioides, an important marine fish cultivated in the coastal areas of southern China and Southeast Asia. The full length cDNA of PKC-ɑ was 3362 bp in length containing a 23 bp 5'UTR, a 1719 bp 3'UTR, and a 1620 bp open reading frame encoding 539 amino acids.

Methods: The GDD group includes 67 infants aged between 112 and 699 days with global developmental delay and who underwent T1-weighted MRI scans in Shanxi Children's Hospital from December 2019 to March 2022. The healthy control (HC) group includes 135 normal developing infants aged between 88 and 725 days in Shanxi Children's Hospital from September 2020 to August 2021.
Domestic pigs has served not only as one of the most important economy livestock but also as ideal organ-source animals owing to similarity in anatomy, physiology, and organ size to humans. Howerer, the barrier of the cross-species transmission risk of porcine endogenous retrovirus (PERVs) blocked the pig-to-human xenotransplantation. PERVs are integrated into pigs' genomes and cannot be eliminated by designated or specified pathogen-free breeding.

They can be categorized into four immunological pathways mounted against four types of parasitic infections. For intracellular protozoa, the eradicable host immunological pathway is TH1 immunity involving macrophages (M1), interferon gamma (IFNγ) CD4 T cells, innate lymphoid cells 1 (NKp44+ ILC1), CD8 T cells (Effector-Memory4, EM4), invariant natural killer T cells 1 (iNKT1) cells, and immunoglobulin G3 (IgG3) B cells.

The Ebola virus (EBOV) can cause Ebola hemorrhagic fever, which is documented as the most deadly viral hemorrhagic fever in the world. RT-PCR had been suggested to be employed in the detection of Ebola virus; however, this method has high requirements for laboratory equipment and takes a long time to determine Ebola infection.

Methods: Twelve male APP/PS1 double transgenic mice were randomly divided a model group and a treatment group, 6 mice in each group; another 6 wild-type male mice were taken as the control group. The mice in the treatment group were treated with EA (continuous wave, 2 Hz of frequency) at "Baihui" (GV 20) and bilateral "Shenshu" (BL 23), once a day; 7-day treatment was taken as a course of treatment, and 2 courses of treatment were given.
Objective: To investigate the effect of electroacupuncture on the P35/P25-cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (CDK5)-Tau pathway in rats with Alzheimer's disease (AD), as well as the mechanism of electroacupuncture in the prevention and treatment of AD.
Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into control group, sham-operation group, model group, and electroacupuncture treatment group, with 12 rats in each group. A rat model of AD was established by injection of Aβ into the bilateral hippocampus.
Sensitive and selective detection of harmful gas is an important task in environmental monitoring. In this work, a gas sensor based on cataluminescence (CTL) for detection of acetaldehyde was designed by using nano-NiO as the sensing material. The sensor shows sensitive response to acetaldehyde at a relatively low working temperature of 200 °C.

Background: It has been reported that lncRNA myosin heavy-chain-associated RNA transcripts (MHRT) can inhibit the apoptosis of cardiomyocytes. It is one of the major pathological changes leading to chronic heart failure.
Methods: The expression level of lncRNA MHRT was assessed by qRT-PCR.
Pancreatic cancer is regarded as the most fatal and aggressive malignancy cancer due to its low 5-year survival rate and poor prognosis. The approaches of early diagnosis and treatment are limited, which makes it urgent to identify the complex mechanism of pancreatic oncogenesis. In this study, we used RNA-seq to investigate the transcriptomic (mRNA and miRNA) profiles of pancreatic cancer in paired tumor and normal pancreatic samples from ten patients.

Methods: A total of 18 male APP/PS 1 double transgenic AD mice were randomly divided into model, EA-2-week and EA-3-week groups (=6 in each). The control group was consisted of 6 male wild mice.
Objective: To evaluate the effect of sleeve gastrectomy with ileal interposition duodenojejunal bypass operation on lipid metabolism in non-obese type 2 diabetes mellitus patients.
Methods: Twenty-nine non-obese patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus underwent sleeve gastrectomy with ileal interposition duodenojejunal bypass operation. All the patients were subjected to the measurement of total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (Homa-IR), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) at postoperative 12th month.

Objective: To make an epidemiological investigation on clonorchiasis sinensis and relevant factors in the south of Hunan Province.
Methods: One village from each of Lengshuitan District and Qiyang County was selected for the survey from November to December in 2006. Stool samples from villagers were collected and examined by modified Kato-Katz method.
Aim: To develop and characterize a practical model of Hepatopulmonary syndrome (HPS) in rats.
Methods: The experimental animals were randomized into five feeding groups: (1) control (fed standard diet), (2) control plus intraperitoneal injection with lipopolysaccharide (LPS), (3) cirrhosis (fed a diet of maize flour, lard, cholesterol, and alcohol plus subcutaneously injection with carbon tetrachloride (CCl(4)) oil solution), (4) cirrhosis plus LPS, and (5) cirrhosis plus glycine and LPS. The blood, liver and lung tissues of rats were sampled for analysis and characterization.

Sugars accumulation and fructokinase activity during satsuma mandarin fruit development in relation to the effect of extra nitrogenous fertilizer on the activity and expression of fructokinase were studied. The results exhibited that fructokinase activity in the tissues of edible and peel decreased during fruit development, which coincided with the accumulation of sugars, while the contents of sucrose and glucose decreased, and the activity of the enzyme increased in peel tissues of ripened fruit. After fertilizing with extra urea, the ratios of sucrose and fructose decreased in ripe fruit, while that of glucose increased compared to the control.
