[Mechanism of Picrorhizae Rhizoma against functional constipation in mice: an exploration based on 16S rDNA and GC-MS].

The study was designed to determine the influences of Picrorhizae Rhizoma on gut microbiota and metabolites in mice with functional constipation(FC). ICR mice were divided into the blank control group, model group, and the low-, middle-, and high-dose Picrorhizae Rhizoma groups. Mice in the model and low-, middle-, and high-dose Picrorhizae Rhizoma groups were modeled with loperamide hydrochloride.

Gu-Ben-Fang-Xiao decoction (GBFXD), derived from the traditional Chinese medicine Yu-Ping-Feng-San, is widely used in clinical settings and has obvious curative effects in respiratory diseases. GBFXD regulates cholesterol transport and lipid metabolism in chronic persistent asthma. There is evidence for its beneficial effects in the remission stage of asthma; however, its metabolic regulatory effects and underlying mechanisms during asthma remission are unclear.
