Aims: The study evaluated the antiviral effect of Verapamil against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) and investigated its underlying mechanism.
Materials And Methods: RSV-infected BALB/c mice were treated with Verapamil. Body weight, survival rates, viral load, lung damage, inflammatory factors, and the expression of RSV fusion (F) protein were analyzed.

Introduction: Increased gut permeability ("leaky gut") has been proposed as a potential contributor to age-related inflammation and gut dysbiosis. However, information on the relationship between a leaky gut and inflammation and physical frailty during aging are limited.
Objective: To investigate the hypothesis that an aging-associated leaky gut is linked to the age-related inflammation and frailty.
Despite major advances in pharmacological and device-based therapies, systemic hypertension (HTN) continues to be the major, modifiable risk factor for most cardiovascular disease and a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Treatment resistant HTN (RH) is present in ≈15% to 20% of hypertensive patients, with few treatment options. These facts provide an opportunity to develop novel hypotheses to advance this field.

Angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), a key member of vasoprotective axis of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS), regulates cardiovascular functions and exerts beneficial effects in cardiovascular disease. However, the association between HMGB1 and ACE2 has not been studied.

All four compounds were characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analysis, powder X-ray diffraction, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compounds 1 and 3 are new 3D networks with 1D channels.

Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are being used widely and increasingly in various products and medical supplies due to their antibacterial activity. However, little is known about the impacts of the AgNPs. Herein, The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the cytotoxic effect of AgNPs in the human liver cell line (HL-7702).

Angiotensin-(1-7) [Ang-(1-7)] has been shown to provide cardioprotective effects. We hypothesize that lentivirus-mediated overexpression of Ang-(1-7) would protect the myocardium from ischaemic injury.
