Background: Although the information on the validation status of electronic sphygmomanometer (ES) devices in use in health care institutions and households is much more clinically relevant than that of ES models available on the market, it remains insufficient.

Methods: A national survey was conducted across all administrative regions of mainland China to assess the validation status of ESs. Fifty-eight cities were selected with stratification by municipality, provincial capital, and other cities, and health care institutions and households in each city were chosen by convenience to identify ES devices in use according to the study protocol.

Histone deacetylases (HDACs) play a crucial role in the regulation of cancer progression and have emerged as key targets for antitumor therapy. Histone Deacetylase Inhibitors (HDACis) effectively suppress tumor cell proliferation, induce apoptosis, and cause cell cycle arrest, demonstrating broad-spectrum antitumor activity. This article primarily focuses on enhancing the selectivity of HDACis through structural modification using natural compounds.

Extracellular matrix (ECM)-based small-diameter vascular grafts (SDVGs, inner diameter (ID) < 6 mm) hold great promise for clinical applications. However, existing ECM-based SDVGs suffer from limited donor availability, complex purification, high cost, and insufficient mechanical properties. SDVGs with ECM-like structure and function, and good mechanical properties were rapidly prepared by optimizing common materials and preparation, which can improve their clinical prospects.

Background: Indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging technology is increasingly widely used in laparoscopic hepatectomy. However, previous studies have produced conflicting results regarding whether it is truly superior to traditional laparoscopic hepatectomy. This study investigated the clinical effect of laparoscopic hepatectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) using ICG imaging technology.

Porous piezoelectric materials have attracted much interest in the fields of sensing and energy harvesting owing to their low dielectric constant, high piezoelectric voltage coefficient, and energy harvesting figure of merit. However, the introduction of porosity can decrease the piezoelectric coefficient, which restricts the enhancement of output current and power density. Herein, to overcome these challenges, an array-structured piezoelectric composite energy harvester with aligned porosity was constructed via a dual structure design strategy to enhance the output current and power density.

Extensive epigenetic reprogramming involves in memory CD8+ T-cell differentiation. The elaborate epigenetic rewiring underlying the heterogeneous functional states of CD8+ T cells remains hidden. Here, we profile single-cell chromatin accessibility and map enhancer-promoter interactomes to characterize the differentiation trajectory of memory CD8+ T cells.

Background: Traumatic fractures are common orthopedic injuries with higher incidence globally, leading to acute stress disorder (ASD). Therefore, this study aimed to analyze the clinical outcomes of mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) therapy in patients with traumatic bone fractures suffering from ASD.

Methods: This study included 135 patients who underwent trauma and fracture treatment at The 305th Hospital of the PLA between August 2021 and August 2023.

Covalent modification of cell membranes has shown promise for tumor imaging and therapy. However, existing membrane labeling techniques face challenges such as slow kinetics and poor selectivity for cancer cells, leading to off-target effects and suboptimal efficacy. Here, we present an enzyme-triggered self-immobilization labeling strategy, termed E-SIM, which enables rapid and selective labeling of tumor cell membranes with bioorthogonal trans-cycloctene (TCO) handles .

Introduction: Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly malignant neuroendocrine tumour, and concurrent chemoradiotherapy is the current recommended treatment for limited-stage SCLC. However, the overall survival (OS) of patients with SCLC remains poor. Therefore, improving the survival of patients with SCLC and benefitting more patients are urgent clinical requirements.

Pralsetinib demonstrated impressive improvement of survival in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients harbored de novo RET fusion. However, the efficacy in patients with acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs has only been reported on a case-by-case basis, and the strategy for overcoming the acquired RET fusion has not been fully investigated. This multicenter, real-world analysis enrolled 32 patients with unresectable NSCLC harbored acquired RET fusion after resistance to EGFR/ALK-TKIs in 23 centers across China from July 1, 2018 to Nov 23, 2022.

Background: Effective management of physical and psychological symptoms is a critical component of comprehensive care for both chronic disease patients and apparently healthy individuals experiencing episodic symptoms. Conversational agents, which are dialog systems capable of understanding and generating human language, have emerged as a potential tool to enhance symptom management through interactive support.

Objective: To examine the characteristics and effectiveness of conversational agent-delivered interventions reported in randomized controlled trials (RCTs) in the management of both physical and psychological symptoms.

An efficient and rapid ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-MSMS) method was developed for simultaneous determination of 5 alternaria toxins (ATs) in edible and medicinal plant - peppermint using MOF-808-trifluoroacetic acid (MOF-808-TFA) as the adsorbent. Characterization methods such as scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and N adsorption-desorption demonstrated that the synthesized MOF-808-TFA had a regular ortho-octahedral configuration and high specific surface area. Under the optimal conditions, the 5 ATs showed good linearity (R ≥ 0.

Background: Tongue squamous cell carcinoma (TSCC) is a malignant oral cancer with unclear pathogenesis that shows a tendency for early-stage lymphatic metastasis. This results in a poor prognosis, with a low 5-year survival rate. Dietary sodium nitrite (NaNO) has proposed associations with disease, including cancer.

Reactive oxygen species exacerbate nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) by oxidizing macromolecules; yet how they promote NASH remains poorly understood. Here, we show that peroxidase activity of global hepatic peroxiredoxin (PRDX) is significantly decreased in NASH, and palmitic acid (PA) binds to PRDX1 and inhibits its peroxidase activity. Using three genetic models, we demonstrate that hepatic PRDX1 protects against NASH in male mice.

Rapid control of hemorrhage is vital in first-aid and surgery. As representative of emergency hemostatic materials, inorganic porous materials achieve rapid hemostasis through concentrating protein coagulation factors by water adsorption to accelerate the coagulation reaction process, however their efficacy is often limited by the insufficient contact of material with blood and the lack of blood clot strength. Herein, we report an ultrafast dispersing and in situ gelation sponge (SG/DB) based on anchoring interface effect for hemorrhage control using freeze drying method after mixing fish scale gel (SG) and tert-butyl alcohol (TBA) pre-crystallized diatom biosilica (DB).

Monitoring existing cracks is a critical component of structural health monitoring in bridges, as temperature fluctuations significantly influence crack development. The study of the Huai'an Bridge indicated that concrete cracks predominantly occur near the central tower, primarily due to temperature variations between the inner and outer surfaces. This research aims to develop a deep learning model utilizing Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) neural networks to predict crack depth based on the thermal variations experienced by the main tower.

Poplar is an important tree species for timber supply and ecological protection in northern China. Cultivating and selecting high-quality varieties and germplasm resources suitable for cultivation are key factors in enhancing the quality and productivity of poplar plantations in the arid and semi-arid northern regions with shorter growing seasons. This study conducted a field cultivation experiment on 10 progeny clones from the direct cross (D × M) of imported 'DD-109' with and 7 progeny clones from the reciprocal cross (M × D) using one-year-old rooted cuttings planted at a 4 m × 8 m spacing.
