Organic fertilizer application promotes the prevalence of antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs), yet the factors driving temporal differences in ARG abundance under long-term organic fertilizer application remain unclear. This study investigated the temporal dynamics of ARG diversity and abundance in both bulk and rhizosphere soils over 17 years (2003-2019), and explored microbial evolution strategies, ARG hosts succession and the influence of root exudates on ARGs regulation. The results showed that the ARGs abundance in rhizosphere soil was lower than that in bulk soil under long-term fertilization, and ARGs abundance exhibited a decrease and then remained stable in rhizosphere soil over time.

Neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease (AD), Parkinson's disease (PD), and Huntington's disease (HD) have become a major global health burden, but the detailed pathogeneses of neurodegenerative diseases are still unknown, and current treatments are mainly aimed at controlling symptoms; there are no curative treatments for neurodegenerative diseases or treatments for the progressive cognitive, behavioral, and functional impairments that they cause. Studies have shown that some plant extracts with pungent flavor components have a certain neuroprotective effect in neurodegenerative diseases, and their mechanisms mainly involve inhibiting neuronal apoptosis, promoting neuronal regeneration, reducing mitochondrial degeneration, and reducing the production of oxides such as reactive oxygen species in cells, which are of great significance for exploring the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases. Research on the waterlogging tolerance mechanisms of helps us to further understand these mechanisms in the root system and enhance its root bark and oil yields in southern China. In this study, root morphological identification, the statistics of nine physiological and biochemical indicators, and a comparative transcriptome analysis were used to investigate the waterlogging tolerance mechanism in this plant. As flooding continued, the roots' vigor dramatically declined from 6 to 168 h of waterlogging, the root number was extremely reduced by up to 95%, and the number of roots was not restored after 96 h of recovery.
